I wonder how many of you watch this show?

Especially those of you who are always thinking most cops are assholes, and power hungry idiots

I know this probably doesn’t represent every cop on the street...but these people are terrific

This show beats the hell out of every other cop show I have ever seen....it is real, it is live

And imo, it serves a great purpose

Bravo ladies and gentlemen....keep up the good work

IMHO: Just more reality TV nonsense.

I have about as much respect for the positions of those who believe most cops are assholes and power hungry idiots as I do for those who don't recognise that there are Police Officers out their currently working whose actions are at times, worthy of questioning/challenging.

Me! Me! Me! I love this show and never miss it! I agree...it's a terrific show and everyone should watch it...it would make them appreciate what cops do and all the crap they have to put up with...

And let's face it...some of the weirdos are downright entertaining...:2razz:

It doesn’t represent every cop on the street

But it gives you a nice view of the crap they deal with on a daily basis

Not all cops are great....not all are bad....they are people and have the same weaknesses we all possess

But these goals and guys are great.....and have a lot more patience than I would have

When the show first came on the air I thought it would not be worth watching but decided
to watch one night. I think it helps the general public see the challenges that police officers
face everyday while they serve the public. 99% of police officers serve day in and day out
to keep us all safe. But when there is a bad cop headlines are splashed across the media and it
is easy to get the perception that all cops act that way. This show shows that is not true.
My thanks to all the officers who put their life on the line each and everyday!

Another show like this, just a little less refined is "Under Arrest" on Netflix. It's about Canadian cops.

Maybe they just film the few good cops while the others are out there shooting innocent people?

What? Like on horses clearing moose from the road?

If that were the case there would be something close to a million police shootings every year as there are roughly 900,000 officers in this country.

Well, that's no reason to throw out the baby with the bathwater...there are plenty of good cops out there...I would not want their jobs...not in a million years...

Agreed, charging, trying and allowing the conviction of the murders among them will suffice.

Bad cops go years and years before shooting innocent people and then they are often fired but let off free...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/national/police-shootings-2017/

Your link only shows how many fatal shootings there are. It doesn't show motive or what happens to the officers afterwards. Also, even taking the stats at face value, there are only 900 fatal shootings. Assuming it's one cop shooting one person, and considering that there are over 900,000 officer in the US, that means only .001% of all cops ever shot and killed someone. This doesn't even consider how many of them are justified.

Gog off a per year standard is not honest when quoting totla number of cops...

I stumbled across it at the hotel last week (or was it the week before last?). I thought it was boring, mostly DUI encounters, but it was compelling enough that I watched for about 1/2 an hour.

these are basic cops on the street

most of the stuff is street stops for expired tags, expected dui, speeding, etc

some of them serving warrants can get dramatic

the domestic calls are the best....never know what you will find, or what condition the parties will be in

if every cop on the street acted like these people, we would have a lot less issues....

they have the patience of jobe at times

and what some of you call murder, juries acquit the cops on

is it your bias on the cops? or the juries bias toward cops?

or maybe, just maybe a little of both

cops have a really difficult job....and this show helps to portray that....

Word. I've dealt with drunks while sober. It is very easy to want to shoot them.

I suspect that any cop show is only going to show you well-behaved cops and provocative criminals....

They aren't going to show you cops executing a search warrant on the wrong house and shooting the family dog when it barks.

1. They broadcast COPS! edited style stuff intermixed with the supposed pure live stuff to cover "gaps"

2. A&E imposes a delay of unknown length specifically so that they can turn it off if confidential material appears, or "otherwise inappropriate material." By design it is not truly live.

3. Since we're snarking about meanings of words, why don't you pull out a dictionary and look up "inappropriate"? Then think about it before trying to *get* a liberal . If you do that, you'll realize that some TV employee(s) determines what is and is not "inappropriate" and is or is not shown.

4. Just a teensy-weensy bit of further brain usage will lead one to a painfully obvious conclusion: the worst cops are the ones least likely to agree to participate, while the most upright cops are the most likely to participate. Ain't logic grand? And what does logic further suggest? That therefore, your are most likely to see cops behaving well and least likely to see them behaving poorly.

Stating, for example,:

The Big Fish Entertainment-made series (8 x 120 minutes) will pull in 30 live feeds from six cities across the country in a bid to offer an unfiltered look into a typical Friday night for men and women in blue. Those feeds will then be transmitted via 4G technology to a New York-based studio where ABC News chief legal analyst Dan Abrams, alongside Dallas Police Department detectives Rich Emberlin and Kevin Jackson (all pictured above), will provide audiences with insight into what they’re viewing in real time, while offering an inside take on each live incident. . . At the discretion of lawyers, A&E and Big Fish have implemented various measurements to ensure the potential of broadcasting intense and disturbing content across live cable television has been minimized. As such, the series will air on a fluctuating yet slight tape delay to avoid graphic or compromising content with the option of cutting to multiple angles of coverage or switching locations also available to the executive producers. The majority of footage will be recorded through dash cams, fixed rig, handheld, and multiple producer cameras. But production teams are filming pre-recorded packages with law enforcement during the week to further ensure the live series is both entertaining and informative during each two-hour primetime block.

Don't I understand the word LIVE, indeed.
Anyone could have and should have guessed that whomever produces the show is obviously going to have discretion over what actually does and does not show. Meet a confidential informant, time to switch feeds. Someone crawls out of a wreck with their arm torn off and bone protrudcing, time to switch feeds. Etc etc etc. BECAUSE DUH!

But yeah, keep snarking at me....

there is one in every crowd....

of course there is a slight delay....i dont want 8-9 year olds watching TV to see dead bodies close up

but go ahead and have your snit...

are these the best officers on these forces? dunno

seem like ordinary officers to me, but then again i have no bias against LE like you do

your bias is the one clearly showing....must have been a bad stop....were you riding dirty?

You snottily ran your mouth at me. You were wrong.

It's a shame there are only maybe a handful of people on this board who have the decency to admit when they **** up.

It is excellent. Watch it all the time. Pascal County and Wakulla county...I’ve been to to both. Got family in both. Both have ****ty dregs. Wakulla all the people smell like fish. And pasco is filled with a bunch of yankee and south Florida transplant losers.
