White woman punched by black cop

I don't think the slap at the back of his head was the problem; it was when she backhanded him in the face on the second swing. She now has a felony record, lol, and quite frankly deserved the response she got, in my opinion.

Weak? He got backhanded across the face. That's not weak. Anyone with a spine would have punched a person backhanding them across the face.

Not necessarily. Depends on the circumstances and who is involved and if I felt threatened. She was pretty wrecked. I'd have restrained her properly to begin with so i didn't put myself in that situation. Kinda like a kid physically weaker than me lashing out. I wouldn't full on punch a kid in the head/face either. At least I'm consistent I guess.

There are of course always exceptions to any rule. In this particular instance, I'd have decked her to and I would bet a lot of other people would have also.

Because the cop is black? And the arrested is white? So the poster feels if it was reversed it would get more media coverage?

I guess. :shrug: But fact of the matter is that the punch was deserved and the media isn't all that interested in reporting unless there is an actual controversy. Which there isn't here.

Plenty of white officers were justified in their actions towards black subjects yet there were still riots over them.

Why does race come into this picture? The suspect struck a cop...twice. She should get charged to the max and buried.

Yep, and whites riot over stupid stuff also. :shrug: Either way, it is irrelevant to this case and you're doing nothing more than race baiting imo.

The redskins football logo is quite legit. The team was ran and played by Native Americans and iirc the coach, who was Native American, came up with the name. Only a minority of Native Americans find it offensive. Probably because they don't know this history of the team or the fact that it was Native Americans that first coined the term even before the football team was created. There are plenty of legitimate offensive terms out there that one can rail against. This isn't one of them.

Drawing comparisons is quite valid. When used appropriately. This is not an appropriate case. If you want to draw a valid comparison then find a case of abuse that isn't legit. More will care about it.

Sorry, no. There were a bunch of officers on her. As an officer you don't get to punch people in the face under such a weak argument. A private citizen would've been within their technical rights but it still would've been weak if you were rolling with a bunch of your buddies and you felt threatened enough by a girl to knock her out. Wonder what kind of trauma she had from getting hit in the face, very likely broken facial bones. I'm guessing you don't have much training in escalation of force.

Focusing so much on race and perceived differences in treatment is part of the problem. Each incident should be evaluated individually by what happened.

Having said that, I have no issue whatsoever with him hitting her like that. She whacked him first... twice. His hit was just enough to get her to stop. He didn't keep wailing on her like we see in some videos.
