Innocence isn't enough to free wrongly imprisoned

At times I can agree but not having a proper warrant is illegal search, unless you meant the warrant had the wrong address on it or something...

I agree. Was presenting a change in thinking. Evidence is evidence. If it was obtained illegally by an LEO, it is still evidence. There should be a law that punishes the LEO for collecting evidence illegally. That would reduce the chances of an LEO getting evidence without a warrant. However, I don't think a person who committed a major crime should walk because a LEO collected the evidence without a proper warrant. That is a separate issue. The LEO should be held accountable for breaking the law.

What would be a sufficient punishment that wouldn't be hollow to the point of encouraging breaking the law?
