This is amazing! Baltimore cops allegedly planting drugs.

https://twitter.com/justin_fenton/status/887504546074939393/video/1

Tweets: Footage shows officer placing drugs in trash; goes out to street, turns on camera, returns. Cams save 30 sec prior to activation, w/o sound

Man held on drug charges related to this vid since Jan on $50k bail he couldnt pay; @BaltimoreSAO called officer in another case days later

I have not found this story reported in any actual news source.

I wonder how the camera knows 30 seconds before it's activated to start recording?

It must have some sort of buffering action where it is always recording but records over it every 30 seconds, saving it only when turned on.

That is what I was thinking, but it would use a lot a batteries, as it would always be on.
The way it was phrased int he story sounded like the camera "knew" it was to be turned on 30 seconds later.

Well the person posting it seems to be a journalist with a Baltimore newspaper so maybe you need to ask him why he decided to spam out his allegations on Twitter rather than writing them up as a proper news story.

Perhaps these camara units should also listen and auto activate when they hear a gunshot.

Maybe he is working on a story.

Here we go.

Body camera video allegedly shows Baltimore cop planting evidence - CNN.com

One officer in the video has been suspended and the other two placed on administrative duty pending an investigation by the department's Office of Professional Responsibility.

Police said the arrest involved a drug sale that led to the discovery of two bags of heroin in gel capsule form. One bag was tied off and the second bag had been opened and recovered by officers at the scene. The police chief said, "It's certainly a possibility that we're looking into to see if the officers in fact replaced drugs that they had already discovered in order to document their discovery with their body-worn cameras on."

That sounds reasonable, but it still makes the cops look really bad.

Trump turned Twitter into a legit news source.
