Colorado Body Slam: Cleared of Wrong Doing

Some officers just know how to do their Job, those that don't should do something else.

Like I said 25 years ... he came across people like that every week of those 25 years, yet training and professionalism prevailed over fear.

You my want to have a conversation with some real professionals, outside of Fox News.

Just saying ... ;)

Yea. Something tells me daddy isn't telling you the whole truth. I've known plenty of cops. ;)

And? These are not related other than the fact that the resigning party caught heat for the viral video as well and resigned. You realize that you are bringing up an officer that was not involved in this case, and was also not in court making rulings based on the body cams, and probably isn't even residing over the prosecution of th le "victim."

Yes. I heard about that incident already. I didn't include it because it was irrelevant. Try again.

And perhaps this case was the final straw. You mention an Officer, did you so quickly forget he was the Chef of Police??
You conveniently downplayed this and I do not need to try harder. Your response was answer enough

The police department was the subject of an internal racial and ethnic discrimination lawsuit that resulted in a $425,000 settlement. An excessive force settlement was reached out of court earlier this year.

I agree. See my feelings on Zimmerman. But let's put it this way...what is your response to someone persistently attacking you if they are a girl? Are you going to let them hit you? Now. Keep in mind this person was also interfering with the investigation. So the officer puts her down to arrest her...and her being a drunk in platform heals? Doesn't bode well for her.

I would have done the same thing. A quick throw to end the stand up fight and control her ass.

Hard to tell as we have not seen the complete video.

Got it, you know more than I do

:2wave: // Debate Over //

I probably do. I grapple for sport and fun. Train with cops. Have trained with thugs. **** happens in a fight. But most importantly...ending the fight before it escalates is the best way to handle things. Use of force continuum. She was out of control and trying to stop them from doing their duties (her boyfriend was cuffed). She physically assaulted them. Rather than taser or spray her or hit her with a club or fits...he used a control throw. Gravity is a bitch. Next time she won't get in the way AND THEN try to attack the officer who has to keep her from doing exactly that.

Seriously. You think your dad ever fought fair to win against suspects? Lol.

Really? LMAO! Dude. Have you not heard of officers getting in trouble for this? A choke hold is far more likely to kill someone like her instead of what happened. And it happens all the time. Choke holds are a HUGE no no. Ask any current officer. I don't think they even train them to do that.

Are you slow? Do you realize the police chief is not the one in the video that slammed Surat to the ground? So what does it matter here? Oh. It doesn't.

Hard to tell as we have not seen the complete video.

Court has. Court did. Now they are prosecuting Surat. Let's be honest...what are the odds they prosecute someone that they don't have a slam dunk on after the edited 9 second video?

If you seen my father you'd understand why a kid would listen to what he had to say ... ;)

Sometimes attitude and inflection is all you need; plus some big hands and forearms.

It's a joke ... :2razz:

I think I'm now starting to understand the thinking of today's Police Officers over the ones I grew growing up with.

This explains everything.

Really getting nasty now aren't you. He is the Chief, fired for not having control of his Officers is how I read it.

I was referring to the body slam, how long did he engage with her, what happened prior to. No more no less than that.

That's irrelevant. Size doesn't not equal good control. Neither does strength. Proper application does. Here is a little experiment...ask your father these questions...and I don't really care what he says...this is for you...ask him if he remembers his FIRST altercation (real) with a suspect. Ask him about the worst. And then ask him the similarities between how he handled the usual drunk and that worst one. Ask him if his plan ever changed from when he started to when he stopped being a cop.

It's a joke ... :2razz:

You better hope so. Choking someone as an officer isn't a good idea. Hell..it isn't easy to choke a standing opponent without a gi or jacket. But at any rate...my point is valid...there is no good way or easy way to control an out of control drunk. You just have to do it and SOMEONE (preferably the drunk) is going to end up with some bruises and scrapes and maybe a broken bone.

You are the one trying to judge a man by the actions of...wait for it...SOMEONE ELSE. You think that is acceptable? Do you think that would stand in court? You know it wouldn't. You also know...practically and logically speaking...the chief has nothing to do with this incident. His ass was at home asleep when the incident transpired. Hell..even if he was working he would be behind a desk and not handling this incident till it hit the press. That's how chain of comman works.

Should you be held responsible for actions of your corrupt boss?

Don't need to ask him ...

First altercation = slap-jack to the arm, dropped knife ... altercation over.

Worst altercation = .40 caliber center-mass ... altercation over.

Worked on my baby brother all the time

Like I said...this went through the courts. And now they are prosecuting her. I suspect the video doesn't matter to you. He is a cop. Ergo he is guilty.

Talking about unarmed altercations slick ;)

Believe it or not, the ornery SOB didn't even die ... with .40 Caliber kicking off his spine.

Lucky SOB, but he's still in jail for wounding a two other people.
