MOORHEAD, Minn. — A Minnesota man is accused of abusing his 2-month-old daughter, including rubbing hot sauce and cayenne pepper in her eyes and blocking her airway until she turned blue, the Duluth News Tribune reports.

Shawn Michael Foltz, 31, of Moorhead, was charged Friday with neglect of a child, malicious punishment of a child and two counts of third-degree assault.

A criminal complaint obtained by the newspaper alleges Foltz also snapped his daughter with a towel, burned her with hot water and threw fireworks in her face.

The abuse happened from about April 10 until May 30, according to the complaint.

Authorities learned of the abuse after the child’s mother brought her to the hospital with visible injuries.

When interviewed by police, Foltz admitted to some of the abuse, the newspaper reports, and also said he would think about ways to harm the baby while he was at work.

Foltz is being held under a $100,000 bond.



WTH is wrong with people? I wouldn't give him any bond. Sick ****er! Can't wait until he shares some quality time with the inmates.

And WTH is wrong with the mother letting this happen!?

Sociopaths? Drugs? Could be a number of things wrong.

Again... there needs to be a license to have kids.
 
Scumbucket. Needs to do a long stretch and get his junk cut so he can't even accidentally father another child. The wife was probably abused too but even if that was the case I'm not terribly sympathetic to women who let their kids get tortured.
 
These kinds of stories make me sick.
 
This is a horrible story and I hope he spends a long time in jail, where he won't be treated kindly at all.
 
Poor baby...some people should not be allowed to have children...
 
1. he should loose all visitation rights to that child for 15 years or longer

2. his parental rights should be removed and a protection order for the child should be taken out which would not allow this scumbucket to be within 100 yards of that child

3. nice prison sentence

4. (and sadly that is not allowed because it is cruel and unusual) he also deserves being pepper sprayed once a day for a full month. Making him wait half an hour before he is allowed to wash it out.
 
I wish there was a feasible, ethical way to require people to pass psychological screening before they can become parents. I'm not talking about parenting classes. People don't do these kinds of things out of ignorance. They do it because they are seriously screwed up in the head.
 
How horrible. The father sounds like a real psychopath.

Thank goodness the mother took the baby to hospital.

Yes, especially since he said he thinks of things to do to the baby when he's at work. The guy should not be allowed out on bond.

Why was this guy not charged with attempted murder?

I hope they stick him in gen pop and let the rest of the inmates know why he's there. The world would be a better place without this piece of **** in it.
