Cops "accidentally" soccerball kick crash victim in the head

It does not matter who they thought the guy was their first action should have been to put out the fire on the guy not kick him in the head. If he was the suspect it still would not make it better

As I said, it isn't really clear that they did that, or were they trying to put out the burning clothes? The video wasn't that clear to me.

What we have is a case of this cop showing absolutely zero mercy and being so panicked that he was willing to hurt a completely innocent person.

Am I the only one that would rather take a kick from a cop worried for a second that I might be a bad guy and before he then helps put out the fire that I am being burned with?

You know what, walk a mile, then tell me they have zero mercy.

People keep saying he was kicked in the head? It looks to me that he kicked the guys arm out from under him to get him down........ in a attempt to subdue & help.

From what I have read about it, there are others saying this to be true....I dunno.

That's what I saw as well. I don't know either. It wasn't as clear to me, and my eyesight isn't that bad yet!

I agree with that. The first kick to the side was hard and not good but it is very believable that they thought he was the bad guy for a split second and wanted him down. After realizing he was innocent it looks like they were stomping burning clothing... but I could be wrong. They do drag him pretty hard at the end.

Perhaps to get away from the heat of that fire?

It is sad how many people who complain daily about the government getting too big and strong, and the US becoming a police state are the same people who excuse bad cops behavior EVERY SINGLE TIME.

It's hard to tell but after the initial take-down kick, it sort of looks like they were stomping burn clothing.

Most common people know that you don't put a fire out by stomping on the person that's on fire. You smother the fire. With the jacket/shirt that you're wearing if nothing else is available. I would expect police to actually be trained how to put the fire out of a person that is on fire since they are first respondents. Hell, I learned that when I was in 2nd grade for crying out loud.

Doesn't matter if they thought he was a suspect or not. A confirmed criminal or not. Kicking people in the head is unacceptable and excessive use of force. Particularly against someone that is on their knees and on the ground.

I've long noticed the contradiction. Big government is dishonest and bad... except the police... who are part of government... police are honest and good.

When I first seen this, my emotions wanted to get the best of me. And then I used logic.

The guy was on fire I believe, a car burning next to him, the cops were trying to put the fire out. I don't care if they have to hit you with a baton, if the fire's out, the fire's out.

I'm a very pro-cop guy, until my future son gets shot for no reason at all aside from police misconduct, I won't be anti-cop.

I think demonizing the men and women who protect our streets, day in and day out, is a very dangerous thing to do.

Not all cops are thugs with badges just itching to give some poor guy a beat down.

I don't like how our police is being militarized, I don't like the attitude the common cop has, but they're doing a TOUGH job. Give them a break.

This is how I rule on this video/topic.

Nothing wrong was done here, aside from someone video'ing someone on FIRE and not actually stopping to help. That actually concerns me more than the occupation of those taking the time to stop and help. How can humans just video tape the suffering of someone else like that? Oh yea, because humans in general are pretty terrible.

Not just black people.

Not just white cops either.

Yes. All people are to be treated as innocent until proven guilty in the court of law.

Haven't you all seen cops a million times?

There are not a million cops employed...

They were putting the fire out. It seems like the media looks for any little reason to demonize police officers. I'm sick of it. I can tell when a cop is in the wrong, the man was on FIRE.

Hopefully the truth will come out that he was just doing his job to protect and serve.

hmmmm... interesting statement. Care to clarify?

Yea sure.

Arabs flew planes (allegedly, I think it was rich old white brehs like Bush and company, probably a little bit of both.) into the Twin Towers

Blacks do indeed kill one another and are holding cities like Chicago hostage

The Japanese during WW2 committed the Rape of Nanking in China... think: The Holocaust V2 without the gas chambers. Do read on this subject, it's astounding that the Japanese government STILL refuses to take responsibility for the atrocitiy

Whites had the KKK, they had Nazi Germany, they had the Soviet Union.

Hispanics/Latinos in Cuba, Venezuela etc. had Communist/Socialist regimes

Koreans have a Socialist Communist regime

Jews and Romans (whites) both killed Jesus Christ.

The list goes on and on.

Humans as a whole are pretty terrible.

How many cars do you see sitting on the side of the road with few to no one stopping to help?

How many homeless people do you see on the street who are treated like dirt?

How many wars has the US started?

How many lives has the US Fed Gov ruined? We can start with wiping out the Indians but we even go as far back as when Whites discriminated against the Irish and against Roman Catholics/Non-Protestants.. and believe me, the US Fed Gov had a hand in allowing this in going on. Just like they allowed the KKK to thrive for decades.

How many TVs and fancy smart phones do Americans continue to BUY even though, slave labor was used to make it?

Many Americans are contributing to the downfall of humanity and so many are apathetic.

Mass shootings by whites galore, blacks kill other blacks in more #'s than the KKK ever did, the rich keep families down by outsourcing their jobs, automating their jobs or by keeping them perpetually part time and temp (pay your workers a decent amount. I propose a "family wage". Pay them good, treat em right and maybe you won't have a high turnover rate)

Look what we're doing to our environment, we have weapons that can cause damage through generations and we just toss around the term "nuclear war" like we're talking child's play.

Idc what race you are, humans are, as a whole, TERRIBLE people.

Video is clear on this one. They need to go to prison.

I would say it is a manifestation of the Lucifer Effect, for sure.

That is the name given by Philip Zimbardo to human behavior he observed in an experiment conducted at Stanford University. Stanford Prison Experiments. Humans very much resemble dogs in the pack behavior.

The darker side of the human condition.
