Sociopaths and serial killers. Most start out with torturing animals and/or being firesetters. Years ago I went to a conference on this. Best thing they can do with this scumbag is put him in a room a throw away the room. Forever. That way he won't kill innocent people in the future.

Yes. Mistreating is not providing proper living environment or adequate food and water. This is plain demonic torture. This is something the Nazis would have approved of.

I truly believe some people are just pure evil that no matter how much "rehab" is done is not going to change things.

Yes, humans are certainly violent, I agree.

Having read many responses on this thread, it does seem safe to say that the old saying "violence begets violence" has a strong element of truth to it.

I'd agree with the "crime in progress" argument. But, I doubt it would be legal to follow after the guy's truck and shoot him over a cat. It would be if he was dragging a person.
 
A shipmate and I were coming home from a golf tournament one day. While we were sitting at a red light light on Military Highway, he all of a sudden begins screaming and get's out of my truck running across the intersection dodging traffic. There was guy on the corner taking full swings and smacking the **** out of a little black puppy. He was jerking it by it's neck off the ground at the same time. My buddy started knocking the hell out of the guy and put him on the ground. He then picked the puppy up and ran back over to my truck and telling me to shut the "F" up and drive, and so I did. The dog was a mixed Lab. I was paranoid for 2 weeks afterwards thinking the cops were going to eventually pull me over, show up at my front door, or I come to my ship. I thought for sure a dozen drivers out there would have reported my plates.

The cops never came, and I never got stopped.

He named the dog "Sparky" in relation to him being a Navy Electricians Mate, and he and his wife had the dog for 13 years. Sparky was one of the goofiest & sweetest creatures you could ask for, and had a nice spoiled life.

There have been studies reflecting that phenomenon. Throwbacks to a time when dragging the cat meant dinner was served.

Also a book, The Bad Seed, was based on the idea.

Perhaps the perpetrator has severe mental illness. I do not believe in Vigilante justice anyway.

But since it is a Debate Politics forums, Vigilantes are building a climate where some Conservatives executed an effigy of President Obama, and Liberals beheaded an effigy of President Trump.

One of the great achievements of Humankind is prohibition of cruel punishment. In USA torture by inhuman incarceration and especially Supermax is a routine. But in civilized nations like most Europe and Canada, even the worst offenders have a right to humane treatment.

People who torture animals are mostly severely insane.
 
Well, this is an idiot but what about this:
10 year old strangles 5 animals

Two ducks, one chicken, a rabbit and a guinea pig. A ten year old girl from Heerlen strangled the animals with her bare hands, last Friday evening.

The animals, property of Beerengoed (a child daycare center) in Heerlen, were found lifeless on Saturday morning in the animal pens.

CCTV recordings led to the youthful perpetrator. On the recordings one can see the girl arriving at the daycare center on Friday around half past seven, she climbed over a fence and go into the animal pens.

After about thirty minutes she comes out with a dead chicken in her hands. She tosses it away when she climbs over the fence and moves off.

Volunteers of the Beerengoed, who wanted to let the animals out on Saturday morning found the dead animals and called the police.

Marion Schelberg, head of Beerengoed is devastated by the events. "I hope the young girl gets professional help as soon as possible, because this kind of behavior is disturbing".

According to the partner of Schelberg, who is a doctor, the animals had been throttled/strangled to dead. From a criminal point of view her acts do not have consequences. In the Netherlands youthful offenders can only be prosecuted when they are 12 years or older.

Definitely, most juvenile offenders under 15 are insane rather then "evil".

Many feel he should have remained in the vehicle and filed a police report. But for me, I am pleased to find people like him who will stand up for an innocent little dog.

I just like to imagine what it was like at his house when he returned from a golf tournament and came into the house with his clubs and a new puppy.

I believe it is worth it to try stopping animal abuse when you see it. But, I also know it is not justifiable homicide to kill such a person. Now, if you confront, and the asshole attacks you? Yeah, gloves can come off and putting a bullet into his head may pass judicial muster, especially if he was in the act of committing a felony when you confronted him.

What you cannot do, though, is take out dog or cat revenge on such an asshole. It's a very tricky situation.
 
I read many years ago that many serial killers had previously tortured & killed animals

before I opened the link I figured this 'cat killer' was a white guy; opened the link & he looks like a white red neck with a Taliban beard

real winner right there; he should be castrated so, he can't pass along his gene pool .................
 
In civilized nations like Scandinavia and Canada, even the worst criminals are not subject to cruel punishment such as American Superxax. Most of the worst criminals are criminally insane. And in USA that is largely due to lack of free psychiatric care.
