Black teen killed in hit-run — white driver gets probation

How fast was the Bullet going, why were they down range, was it a FMJ or HST, was is 124 or 143 grain?

Was the shooter right hand of left?

Was it windy or a calm day.

Unlikely she knew she hit a black kid. Very likely she knew she hit a human being, since her niece, who was with her in the car, dialed 911, and then later testified she immediately wanted to torch her car to "get rid of the evidence." Hitting a deer is not a crime, as far as I know. Certainly not the sort of crime that'll have the police coming after you. She knew she hit a human being, and did not stop, because her license was suspended. She should be in prison. That she is not, after having had her license suspended 39 times, and after knowingly hitting a human being at high speeds and not calling for help, is absolutely mind-boggling. No way to know for sure it's about race, but that seems like a very likely explanation, because not much else makes sense.

Heck the fact that the NJ victim would be harder to see at night than a white person ought to be enough to excuse her from wrongdoing.

She was given probation and ordered to have drug treatment — with the threat of prison if she violates her probation


This one is a quick read - but you really have to go to the DN and read the entire article to see how she 'got away' with it. I do not doubt - that if it were me . . . with a flawless driving record, not a crack head, a productive citizen -

I would have gone to prison for the rest of my life. She got break after break after break - and now this worthless use of a life gets a chance to do it again.

Usually if you hit and skip, you're in big trouble, even if the accident is not your fault,

The kid was hit because he jumped a Jersey barrier.

I agree and it should be that you are in trouble... it just isn't your fault the kid got hit.
 
Is it possible that both parties are at fault? This lady should no way have had her license after maybe like 4 or 5 suspensions in the first place. So the justice system failed. She failed as a human being for breaking the law, especially leaving the scene of an accident. And the idiot kid failed at using his brain and tried to play "real life frogger". Sucks the kid died, but even if the lady wasn't on the road, who says the next car wouldn't have killed him either?

The only example of racism in this case is the OP who thinks that every time a black person dies and a white person is involved there were motives from the white person to kill the person, or the justice system to let them off. Obviously the justice system let her and many other people off that shouldn't be driving. Unfortunately this time a dumbass kid got killed too.

Here in Oregon too.

It is not someplace you see everywhere. They are used and designed over 40 years ago with specific angles to keep 18 wheelers in their lane.

One time this lady was freaking out as we were merging lanes because she could not get in front of me. She floored her Camero and smashed it into that divider and drove her left side of her car up it and onto two wheels. O stopped obviously and enjoyed the show. She yanked her car off it and it smashed to the ground in sparks, etc. and it seemed like it broke her drive train. She drove off screaming and waving her arms. It was hilarious.
