police release names of 7 arrested while protesting her deportation

The Valley mother at the center of a protest outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office in Phoenix has been deported. At the same time, seven people arrested while protesting her deportation are awaiting their initial court appearances.

This is great news. The Federal Laws are finally being upheld. Any logical thoughts?

I want our laws to be upheld, but I'm not going to take pleasure in the deportation of an otherwise law abiding person who has been here since she was fourteen. She didn't have a say in her arrival here, and I think she did the best she could with the cards that were dealt to her.

Compassion and mercy aren't just words.

She was also busted for crimes while here and had a standing deportation order from a judge that is 4 years old and so far , until now, unenforced.

"Last night's events show President Trump's mass deportation plan makes our country less safe.
Rather than tracking down violent criminals and drug dealers, ICE is spending its energy deporting a woman with two American children who has lived here for more than two decades and poses a threat to nobody. It is outrageous, and precisely why as long as I am mayor, Phoenix will not participate in the 287(g) program or enter into any other agreements with the Trump Administration that aim to advance his mass deportation plans."

Right, but her crime, at least as far as I understand, is that she was working illegally. That isn't very different from being here illegally. I'd call that an otherwise law abiding person.

Good for the deportation, and good for the arrests of the protesters. I hope they were given federal rioting charges so that they can become felons if convicted.

"Ms. Garcia, who has a prior felony conviction in Arizona for criminal impersonation, was the subject of a court-issued removal order that became final in July 2013. Ms. Garcia’s immigration case underwent review at multiple levels of the immigration court system, including the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the judges held she did not have a legal basis to remain in the U.S. ICE will continue to focus on identifying and removing individuals with felony convictions who have final orders of removal issued by the nation’s immigration courts."

She knew she was here illegally and instead of taking steps to attain legal status, she committed a crime and is now on her way back to her nation of origin. I've made it clear that in cases where someone was brought here illegally as minor should get "Fast Pass" to legal status, but that should be contingent upon them being an upstanding citizen with NO criminal record. She crossed a line that should disqualify her from any special considerations.

Actually they are...so are Law and Order.

Once these illegal immigrants start realizing that the unlimited government benefits will come to and end then these sorts of thing will stop. Furthermore we all know that she's going to try and sneak back into the country anyway.

Why would they be given such charges? Do you understand how the law works?

Liberals think crime shouldn't have consequence.

No she was busted for using someone elses social security number. yes she was using it for the purposes of working but still a bit different than just working.

What 'unlimited benefits' was she receiving? Please name them all.

She had a felony years ago... is that the best she could do?

The fact that her case has been going on since 2009 speaks volumes to the problem we have.

She was here illegally
She (apparently) came here to drop a couple of anchor babies
She got busted using someone else's ID

From that point forward it took nearly 8 YEARS to get her processed. It took 4 years to get a deportation order and another 3 1/2 to enforce it.

She was using someone else's social security number and was being given support by liberals to continue doing so.

This lady was on the list and in the system YEARS BEFORE TRUMP even ran for President.

ICE issued a statement about the situation.

"Ms. Garcia, who has a prior felony conviction in Arizona for criminal impersonation, was the subject of a court-issued removal order that became final in July 2013. And that somehow, magically, acquired for her 'unlimited benefits'?

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Well it's a good thing she wasn't here until she was 65 so that she could get medicare and social security, which is what those protesters wanted. You do realize that a social security number opens up someone to getting all kind of benefits right? There really is almost no limit.

Yep, to work, pay taxes....and get few if any benefits.

Except get all those wonderful things a social security number could get someone access too. Oh and let's not forget those anchor babies who get undeserved citizenship.

Ah... so now you're going from claiming she actually was getting unlimited benefits to "had she stayed here until 65 she would have gotten almost unlimited benefits."

I read it already, apparently you didn't, else you would have known where my quote came from.

I did. I was pointing out that your quote is irrelevant to her case. Your sexual obsession with Trump and Putin (just noticed it) is alarming though.
