An agent for the U.S. Marshals Office, Ian Diaz, appears to have a very messy love life. He allegedly encouraged a fiance to imbibe, then videoed her having sex with a stranger. No surprise then that they broke up... even though they had already bought a condo together at a purchase price of over 400K. After the breakup, Agent Ian Diaz found someone else to marry. His newlywed accused the former fiance of stalking, sending threatening emails, and advertising on Craigslist to set up rape scenarios. The former fiance sat in jail for months before the District Attorney announced a mistake! They had arrested the wrong person! Now the newlywed sits in a jail for apparently hatching this whole bizarre scheme. The District Attorney indicates no evidence points to Agent Ian Diaz as having any knowledge or involvement in the scheme.
If this thread gets moved to News of The Weird, I have no objections.

Eventually, I expect the District Attorney's Office to pay a five figure settlement to the former fiance... and the newlywed to implicate Agent Ian Diaz. To be determined ...

It's very rare to see any prosecutor admit to error.
