Baltimore City’s Police Union is sounding the alarm because they say the department is in crisis due to the fact that it has too few officers.

According to a new report, there are more than 100 fewer Baltimore City PD officers than last year, with the union saying this poses a safety concern as officers are being overworked.

The police union president calls the situation “dire.”

Fewer officers makes perfect sense.

Who in the hell in their right mind would want to be a police officer in that city with that mayor, that city council, that state prosecutor, and the local and national media?

Let them see how it is to NOT have police for a while.

The announcement came after the department released a report showing that the number of officers patrolling the city has declined as violent crime has surged. The annual community policing report said 999 officers were assigned to patrol neighborhoods as of last month, down from 1,102 the year before.

In response, the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 3 said the current figure actually was closer to 700 officers

I would make some noises about being shocked, but this is Baltimore.

Exactly what I'm sayin! Same goes for Chicago and Detroit.

You got it.

Public unions would normally rather public employers downsize than face any fiscal realities on an across-the-board basis. This is their own fault and they're resorting to propaganda to blame someone else for what they create.

Baltimore will just continue to slide further into the crapper. They can't solve a problem until they have honestly figured out what the cause is. They are in denial so they won't figure it out.

Probably should just burn Baltimore to the ground and try again, lol.
