Is this even Legal? Propane denied to Trump Supporters

lol...now this is what I call taking your cake and saying F-you. So, liberals sue a baker for not baking them a gay wedding cake. How does this liberal get away with denying propane to Trumies?

Well, even though it's arguable that LGBTQ's are not protected classes (cakes and flowers for SSM weddings, etc.), Trump voters damned sure aren't. Now, as for hypocritical irony? Yeah, they have lot's of that on their side.

On a side note: I don't know how it's managed in Maine, but in NC the LPG industry is part of the natural gas industry and is regulated by the NC Utilities Commission just like electric, telephone, water, wastewater, water resale, household goods transportation, buses, brokers, and ferryboats (not sure why the last four are in there though). In NC, they couldn't get away with refusing service for anyone for any reason other than failure to pay.

Serious question here. Do you really not understand that the law treats those two situations differently or are you just faking ignorance to try to make a point? It's necessary t know to give you any kind of detailed response.

In simple terms, that's not illegal but it is wrong.

It sounds like something that is protected under the Constitution. Withholding propane seems like a potentially more harmful act than not selling a cake, but probably legitimate.

What a ****ing idiot. It's MONEY.

Just take it for Christ's sake.

I'm hoping it's just a rant, and this guy does not actually deny people who need it propane.

I don't know much at all about Maine law.

But I do know that he's opened a niche for competitors who'd have no problem delivering to anyone, even if they'd voted for mickey mouse.

I think refusing people propane in winter is far worse then denying them a wedding cake. And, no. I do not give one iota about "protected class" bull****.

Wrong Portland. Think Stephen King.

Edit: Ah, I see you corrected it. :)

I think he is an idiot

And I hope he goes broke

But imo he can choose to service whatever customers he wishes to service

No issue....someone else will be happy to take his customers from him

As far as I'm concerned, when I work for someone, all I care about regarding them personally is whether their check will clear the bank. Business is business, and private lives are just that - private. We still have a secret ballot in this country and it's nobodies business who anyone else voted for, who they marry, or who they bump uglies with, or any other private matter.

The whole idea of denying service just boggles my mind, who has time for that ****?

If I'm selling ****, I want to sell as much of it as possible so my kids can ****ing eat.

I always operate on the principle that good customers are hard to find, and expensive to bring in. So, I certainly will not be driving them away due to A. Politics, B. Sexual orientation, C. Age, D. Race, or E. Body odor, although I may pass on the offer for doing lunch.

Appears to me, some smart person is going to seize an opportunity to start a new business delivering propane.

If this story is true, I hope when people apply the same tactics as have been applied by liberals in other situations, a vacant store front will result, and a new entrepreneur with more brains will be born.

other than yard signs and bumper stickers, how does anyone know how another person voted?

Easy. Certain groups, such as Blacks and Hispanics and many others, had to political power to gain privileges. Those privileges are not extended to people who are discriminated against due to political beliefs. Not selling to Blacks because they are Black is a violation. Not selling a SM wedding cake because it is an SM wedding cake is a violation. Not selling to police, Clinton supporters, Trump supporters, etc., is legal because those groups are not privileged classes. Even under public accommodation laws.
Weird. I know.

Legal? Yes, i expect so.

There is not one "liberal". This person and the plaintiffs in the cake case are different people.

Furthermore, discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation endures more social opprobrium than discrimination on the basis of politics.

I could just the same criticize how "conservatives" defended the tow truck driver who abandoned the Sanders (?) supporter for her political beliefs. Defending the tow truck driver and complaining about this is hypocritical.

All those who supported the tow truck driver who refused to tow a Sanders supporter should be standing up for this guy.

What tow truck driver?

If it is not, it should be because of the right of association.

Well, if you were on my propane line, I'd be sure to let you freeze then. Right to association.
