A heavy silence fell over Savannah’s downtown business community Thursday as merchants mourned the loss of Kevin Reid, owner of The Australian Aboriginal Art Gallery.

Reid, 54, was shot on the 400 block of East Waldburg Street on Wednesday.

According to the police report, two black men jumped out from behind a tree or a bush on E. Waldburg Street. Reid's wife doesn't recall the suspects saying anything, only shooting her husband and then fleeing.

One of the suspects was described as a black male of a medium complexion, wearing a light colored bandanna over his face. They were last seen heading south on Price Street, Green said.

"He was the nicest guy I ever met in my life. You could speak with him about anything. He was never angry...always here to help," said friend, Alexandre Darbousset, the owner of Le Cafe Gourmet.

Motive? 2 guys jump out of the bushes, ambush the victim and leave. Robbery apparently wasn't the motive.

Where is the link from this commentary showing robbery not a motive? Link Please.

I googled the first line of your OP and the first hit that comes up is whitepowerforum.com. and there's not a chance in hell I'll click on that filth bucket.

Further searches using just the gentlemans name and The Australian Aboriginal Art Gallery without your commentary gives this information

There's also this where it states the Polce are calling it an armed robbery gone wrong.

Reid, 54, was shot on the 400 block of East Waldburg Street on Wednesday night in an armed robbery gone wrong, police said.

Were they Blacks or Aborigines? The implications could be quite different.

Business owner killed during attempted armed robbery on E. Waldburg St.

That quoted part makes me suspicious. Like the cops are hiding something.

Reid's wife never mentioned robbery in any of her statements. I'm not sure if the robbery allegation came from Savannah PD or if some journalist took creative liberty to fill in the gaps for why this senseless murder occurred.

Kari Reid's statements;

""We were walking hand-in-hand as we always do and I was talking and somebody came up behind us and my husband saw and heard them before I did it he literally pushed me off to the side, so I took two or three steps added to the street to get away from the situation in about two or three steps away from him, my back was to him, I heard a popping noise," Kari Reid said.
