An Inmate Died Of Thirst In A Jail Run By A Loudly Pro-Trump Sheriff

He's not in charge of giving them water. And if he was? How in Gods name does that reflect on DT?
So he wants to own only the good things that come out of his sheriffs department? Is this not a reflection of Trump? Remember how he brags all the time that he “surrounds himself with good people" (Donald Trump’s Greatest Self-Contradictions - POLITICO Magazine) and as President he is going to "to surround himself only with the best and most serious people"? (https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...est-people-at-generating-unhelpful-headlines/). This is someone he surrounds himself with? Someone who is in charge of housing prisoners in a way that ensures they do not die, but in fact it seems that his department he headed failed on that aspect. This is one of the "best people" Trump surrounds himself with?

And, of course, the inmates would know...

They wouldnt? Its also not the first time an inmate has died in a Clarke-run jail from dehydration after an inmates water was turned off (it now brings it up to #11 all around death):

"10 inmates died in the sheriff’s office’s custody between 2008 and 2012, a Journal Sentinel investigation found in 2014. One man died after his water was cut off, another man committed suicide after not receiving his antidepressant medication and a woman suffering from chest pains never received any treatment."

An Inmate Just Died Of Thirst In Sheriff David Clarke?s Jail - NewsHounds

Seems that Clarke-run prisons have a history of dehydrating people to the point of death.

Has NOTHING todo with DT.

To make a human being die of thirst is completely ****ed up and is a basic human rights violation. I truly hope justice is served. And if this is some of the "best people" Trump looks to when it comes to our justice system, then he has a serious problem. [/FONT]

Terrill Thomas' own mother accused the police of being too lenient with her son, before his death. Celia Thomas said, ""I can't believe it (referring to when Terrill shot a family friend in the chest on the same day that he went to a casino and attempted to shoot random people there)".
She said police told her, "We cannot arrest your son until your son do something. I said what do you want him to do, kill somebody."

Man charged for Potawatomi Casino shooting - Story

The police apparently weren't treating Thomas unfairly by the account his mother gave, so whatever happened at the jail may have been a very unfortunate mistake.

Says a reporter, who highlights a popular Trump supporter who uses Sheriff Clark's name more than the victim's. The story is about Clark first, victim second. I think there is more to the story and a wise person would wait until more information is released.

Wrong. Trump wasn't mentioned once in the article I linked to.

Please learn to read more carefully.

Hmm... that begs the question, then why is he still in charge if he was at fault for 10 other deaths, or even one?

That clown sherif won't be appearing on tv again so that's at least one good outcome.

Oh my God. There is something very wrong in this country today. Starting with anyone who would try to color Trump with this story. What a bunch of baloney.

Agreed, the obvious ulterior motives and agenda behind these media blitzkriegs against Trump are just that. They aren't a genuine display of affection or empathy, the people running these stories and hit-pieces are soulless, pitiless, remorseless, ruthless creatures that I flinch slightly at the notion of even considering human.

"But its exposing Trump...!" Cool, whatever, I don't care any more, stop using people like tools to further a political motive. It's sickening.

It doesn't sound like too big a loss given the reported history of this inmate. But there still needs to be someone held culpable for this level of neglect. Just because the inmate acted like a worthless piece of trash doesn't mean that his jailers had any right to treat him like one. Someone needs to go to prison for this and some policies need to change.

So if he didn't support Trump this would not be an issue? There is no reason for Trump to be brought into this.

The death of this man I custody has NOTHING todo with DT. It's not rocket science.

1.)I never said Donald Trump was responsible
2.)Simply pointing out that he is a Trump supporter, so much so that he even spoke for Trump at the RNC.
3.)Does this not show a contrast when Trump says he surrounds himself with the best people?

wow

talk about desperate....

what next....we going to hear a story from someone who lives in a building next door?

i do love the smell of desperation though....makes me smile

How does a inmate die of thirst when jail cells have sinks with running water? How does he not get something to drink during chow or shower time?

How does someone manage to type that? Obviously he did NOT have access to a "sink with running water" or he would NOT have died of first.

S People don't just die of thirst.

They do when you don't let them drink water.

You don't put mentally ill people in jail

We do all the time.

Juries refuse to find people not guilty by reason of insanity even though they'll spend the rest of their lives in a mental hospital because the jury wrongly believes they'll get off scot free that way.

I suspect that if the inmate did die of thirst it was because he refused to drink water. Not because someone withheld water from him.

Oh, I see, that answers my prior question: your motive is to say anything to defend the Government.

Does this not show a contrast when Trump says he surrounds himself with the best people?

oooh...is he a member of Trump's team?

is he on the podium as he speaks at every rally?

that is like saying that one photo op with Hillary makes that person a valuable member of her team

not quite....

You suspect wrong james. He was put in a cell for six days where the water had been turned off. He wasn't let out into the commons, or allowed to go to the mess hall, nor did he go to the showers. I've not seen an alive person in my 60+ years that could refuse to drink water. It's not possible.

Ever heard of a thirst strike?

The man was murdered by unspeakable means and you want to stick up for the pigs?

Shame on you!

I think i understand how this game is played. Guilt by association...right? You just connect the incident to Trump because Trump supports law enforcement. OK...
