The largest union representing New York City police officers has awarded its Man of the Year honor to an outspoken black conservative and supporter of Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.
Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke, known for his criticisms of the Black Lives Matter movement as well as President Obama, was named Man of the Year by the New York Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association.

I'm just noticing how a civil-service union becomes acceptable to conservatives by endorsing a Republican nominee.

Yep, my thoughts exactly. The people who spent the last decade hating Unions and trying to destroy them are now quoting unions. The hypocrisy is amazing.

I'd have thought the NYPD cops who were killed on duty would get the nod........

It's not so much the union, but the fact the police - the NYC police - are naming him. NYC has a fine police department, whether they're union represented or not. Most Americans aware of the job they do and respect them for it.

Just because someone doesn't like unions, doesn't mean they can't agree on some points.

Well, I can speak for myself, when I say I don't hate anyone or any group. Just because I don't like how they operate, doesn't mean it rises to the level of hate....whatever that is.

They actually got it right and I agree, so not hypocritical at all.

Man of the Year Award for getting killed? Does not compute.

Well stated and correct.

Correct. Here we have a Black Brother, the top dog for his department, speaking his mind as is his right, being recognized by a Union.

A genuine and good gesture, crossing lines of contention, coming together ....and what do we get? A bunch of butt hurt morons, because they don't like this at all.
