Right now, the liberty movement is divided almost in half between those favoring the SCOTUS ruling legalizing same-sex marriage and those opposed (count me in the opposed camp). So, right now, the liberty movement is completely stymied over this issue. The only ones who win in such a case are big-government Orwellians.

To be sure, the SCOTUS decision to legalize same-sex “marriage” was the result of decades of relentless propaganda from the national news media, liberal politicians, and college professors throughout America.

Think about it: what do Anthony Kennedy, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Elena Kagan, Stephen Breyer, and Sonia Sotomayor know that John Locke, Thomas More, Emer de Vattel, Algernon Sidney, William Rawle, Hugo Grotius, William Blackstone, William Penn, James Wilson, John Marshall, Alexander Hamilton, Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry, John Adams, John Jay, Daniel Webster, Francis Scott Key, Hugo Black, Rutherford B. Hayes, and William O. Douglas didn’t know?

Counter offer: We change nothing and you can continue to be bitter about other citizens having the same rights as you. Let's not pretend like your life has been changed in any way, shape, or form by equal rights.

The first rule of negotiating is having leverage or something to offer. You have neither. No thanks.

#1) there is no problem

#2) no need for a solution

#3) end thread

There is no problem. The issue is settled. Time to move on.

Edit: and the guy who write the article is either really ignorant of what he is talking about, or majorly dishonest. Despite his claims for example, there are a ton of precedent in how Obergefell was ruled.

As much as you and your kindred harp on
'separation', I thought this would thrill you.

I would consider it as a possible solution if it were brought up prior to SSM hitting the scene, but considering the timing it seems more like spoiled children throwing a hissy fit and trying to be spiteful. Please state explicitly how SSM has changed your life and liberty, and what it is that you bring to the table if we agree to your demands.

So what are you going to try to do?

Repeal the 14th Amendment ??

Good luck with that.

Completely agree.

As Christians we are admonished to rebuke sin wherever it may dwell. Like Kim Davis, we are not to associate ourselves with such evil.

Being 'legally' forced to accept and comply it not something most of us want to partake.

Participants of SSM would still have the state's blessing and legal recognition but, Christian and others of faith would only be married as it should be, In the eyes of our Lord.

You are a sinner. Born one and will die one.
You are also told by your "savior" that it's not your place to judge others.

You're a complete hypocrite, and total failure of a christian on many levels.

Love thy neighbor.

You didn't read the article. The State would still accommodate SSM and all the other forms of perverse unions they want. Tjose of faith wouldn't be under those laws.

I love my neighbor but, I don't associate with those who openly defy the word. My goal is working towards sinning no more.

Same-sex couples would still be getting religiously married, there are many Christian Churches and religoius organizations of other faiths that will provide them with marriage. They've been doing it for decades even before Obergefell.

This is true but, we're not talking about CINOs.

The author is suggesting the same old "get government out of marriage" tripe. If you don't want the government involved in your marriage, then don't get a marriage license and be content with your church wedding.

In the 10 states with common law marriage that could be done. However 40 states do not recognized CLM and require a license.

And what would common law marriage achieve?

Sorry, but reading the author's word salad was a horrifying look at the descent into madness, and I can't pick out the reason from the insanity.

Then why did Kim Davis expose herself to the horrible evils of divorce and children out of wedlock, like the bible so often criticizes? Why have Christians around the country associated themselves with such an evil woman?

Of course, you ignore all of those because you selectively choose which sins you do and do not wish to persecute. If you were at least consistent I'd respect you a little bit.

What's funny to me is how something like one of the ten commandments can be just completely ignored to the point of insanity, and not one single religious person I've ever seen makes mention of it, but two consenting adults being in a committed and monogamous relationship with each other is a huge god damned issue.

Most religious people pick and chose what they'll be offended by while ignoring all kinds of other things because it's just too convenient to do so.

Biblical commandment: "THOU SHALT NOT KILL."
Conclusion: killing is cool if it's done for a myriad of reasons and under countless nuanced circumstances.

Biblical commandment not found anywhere in the bible: "People of the same gender cannot marry!"
Conclusion: Gay marriage is an abomination and must be stopped.

How about this one:

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy."

"Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor, and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or the sojourner who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Now think about sports. Football. All the businesses that are open.

What about this one:

"Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain"

Where's the outrage when people say "god dammit" or "Jesus F____ing Christ" ?????

Until you get rid of the marriage license, this is law of the land.
