The Venezuelan Supreme Court rejected him... He was never a candidate for President. Article 233 is to replace an incapacitated leader. Stop lying.

Two points which you have obviously missed:

1) All of the news stories out this week were based on claims emanating from the White House. They were lies. The bridge has never been open to traffic since it was built, so the whole story of Venezuela blocking it to stop humanitarian aid is nothing more than propaganda.

2) There are other roads entering Venezuela from Colombia.

Also, the United Nations and the International Red Cross have objected to the 'politicising' of the humanitarian crisis.

The Red Cross currently provides medical assistance to a number of Venezuelan hospitals under pre-existing and recently expanded international agreements with Maduro’s government.

Are you denying the fact the Chavez and Maduro implemented policies that led to the economic crisis in Venezuela?
 
Here is an interesting article which examines the humanitarian aid coverage by media and finds that very important information about this story is not being reported by much of the West's mainstream media and newspapers.

Simple fix.

Have the Venezuelan military inspect the shipments for weapons.

When no weapons are found release the shipments.

Simpler fix. Turn the stockpiled aid over to the international Red Cross and let them distribute it rather than either the Venezuelan opposition or the Venezuelan Government who have political agendas rather than altruism as a factor in their decision making process. But that will likely not happen because the aid is very likely a tool to advance the credibility of the opposition in Venezuela among the poor, who tend to be more inclined to support Chavismo-style politics rather than US-friendly, neo-liberal, privatisation and the off-shoring of oil and mining profits to foreign investors abroad. It is also a potential tool to justify armed intervention in order to establish buffer zones in Venezuela where aid can be "safely" distributed, in other words a potential pretext for armed intervention.

Joint Red Cross and local doctors works for me.

Maybe even engage the UN.

BTW - You keep brining up oil. Venezuelan oil never stopped flowing into the US. We are taking in every drop Venezuela ships. If Venezuela could produce more it would be welcomed. It is in the best interest of the US for there not to be interruptions due to internal struggles. All the talk of the US fomenting civil war is kinda silly from that aspect.

The oil is flowing for now but the profits are not flowing to Venezuela and are being held in escrow for the Venezuelan opposition. It will be interesting to see if the US allows oil sales to go forward now that Veneziela is using Russian banks to receive payment in Euros. As to control of Venezuelan oil production, Mr. Bolton's words concerning American investment as a motivator for intervention in the Venezielan oil sector are a matter of public record.
