MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Thieves should have their hands chopped off, a Mexican presidential candidate said in a televised debate on Sunday, provoking disbelief from a moderator and setting off a storm of comments and jokes on Twitter.

Jaime Rodriguez, an independent known as “El Bronco,” who is trailing in opinion polls, made the proposal during a discussion about corruption in the first televised debate among the five presidential candidates ahead of the July 1 election.

“We have to cut off the hands of those who rob. It’s that simple,” said the 59-year-old, adding that he would ask Congress to pass a law backing his idea.

I don't thing we're in the 21st century anymore.
First it's the Saudi and Iranian government, then Hamas in Palestine, now we are having it in Mexico.

I'm just going by Trump's own words of admiration, there isn't a third world dictator he doesn't love.
And the bloodier that they talk, the more he loves them.

Trump is consumed with images of bloody, draconian punishments for the tiniest offense, while stating openly that he is entitled to walking off scot-free for his own monumental misdeeds, because in his estimation, he cannot commit a misdeed, due to the loftiness, omnipotence and untouchability of his high office.

You were just in another thread calling for deportation for ANY offense here in the USA by a resident alien.
You can't have it both ways, my man. If you're shocked at the extremes in punishment suggested by a candidate in Mexico, you may want to consider a little bit of mercy for an alien who served honorably in our armed forces. They could have convicted him here, even incarcerated him here, but they did not need to deport him unless it was a grievous felony of some kind.

I have a solution: invade Mexico and occupy it. All "illegals" can be deported and yet have the SAME living standards as the U.S. Now, back to topic.

Ah yes, The crusades where the Muslim blood ran ankle deep in the streets of the holy cities seized from the Muslims, the Inquisitions, the Holy Wars in the Middle Ages, the stake burnings, the progroms. If you ran a tally, more people have been killed in the name of JC than have been 'saved' by him.
