I have been reading about this con-man Jose Marti. He had the nerve to butter up the American people into going to war against Spain, then he turns around and lectures about how being in the USA is living inside "the belly of the monster"! The Spanish-American war was sparked by a lie. The USS Maine turned out to be an accident. The Cuban independence mongers had the US press push the lie that it was an attack by Spain. Let us take this a step further, shall we? Read about all the Cuban Presidents. Every darn one was corrupt.

Here's a list of Cuban Presidents: (Seven were in office for less than a month)

My question is this: If American lives and treasure were spent liberating Cuba, would the replacement government be much better than what they have now?

No. Money has always been Cubas problem. Not their money, mind you...OUR money. The US has, and will continue, to make Cuba her whore. Won't be long before Cubas is just an extension of FL.

My interest in Cuba is based on the possibility of it becoming an offshoring destination. If Cubans are exploited, it's by their rulers. If medical missions are any indication, the most likely scenario is that the US company is billed 1,000 or more CUC and the developer is paid perhaps 1000 CUP. Since they seem incapable of managing worker relationships, it will be up to the US based company to audit against worker exploitation. Do you see how that works? A forced conversion of 1 CUC to 1 CUP.
