Venezuelan parliament votes to begin impeachment proceedings against Maduro

I'm sure the people voting to impeach Maduro will end up killed by his armed thugs.

Venezuela Has Lost 13% of its Population in the Mass Exodus from Socialism

Venezuela's humanitarian crisis is causing refugee flows that may exceed those of the Syrian Civil War.

Venezuela has lost more than 13% of its population in the wake of the mass wave of migration caused by the so-called “socialism of the 21st century”, which has had dramatic effect on the other countries of the region due to the serious humanitarian crisis.

Official figures from the International Organization of Migration (IOM) indicate that between 2015 and 2017, Venezuelan emigration more than doubled, increasing from 700,000 people to 1.5 million.

But the truth is that there are thousands of Venezuelans with dual citizenship who have left Venezuela; just as there are many more that arrive as tourists to their new destinations, and remain there. The incalculable migratory flow began with mass arrivals to neighboring Brazil and Colombia, but has now spread across the region.

According to the pollster ‘Consultores 21′, 40% of the population of Venezuela wants to emigrate; and according to estimates made by the sociologist Tomás Páez, by the middle of 2018, 15% of the Venezuelan population will have left the country, hoping to be able to return one day.

The 21st century socialism has cause shortages of water and power outages. Hugo Chavez nationalized Electricidad de Caracas in 2006. He also nationalized the oil and banking. The state–run water company is in shambles. That is the results of socialism in action.

In 2015 Venezuela had 31 million people, and by June 2018, it is estimated that 2.3 million Venezuelan have left the country, which represent 7.5% of the total population. The regime data from 2017 shows death risen and birth falling. This sharp decline of population mostly happens due to war or natural disasters, which is not the case in Venezuela. In simple language, Venezuelans are living because socialism doesn’t work.

Venezuela in Crisis with Major Gas Shortages as Transport Grinds to Halt

Venezuela's crumbling oil industry is no longer able to supply its own country, with pressing international obligations that require shipping oil to Cuba and China.

Venezuela has 300 billion barrels of oil, but its oil industry is crumbling thanks to socialist mismanagement (CrudeOilPeak).

Venezuela, the country with the largest oil reserves in the world, faces a shortage of gasoline of 80%; a situation that has kept all regions of the country on the edge of chaos.

Although Venezuela has 18 refineries throughout the world and six in national territory, today most states face a shortage of gasoline that is reflected in endless lines of cars waiting for service.

Iván Freites, secretary of the Unitary Federation of Oil Workers of Venezuela (Futpv), pointed out that the endless lines at gas stations are due to low fuel production.

“There is no gasoline, the production of gasoline in the country is practically paralyzed. The Amuay refinery has no product to produce…In addition, 70% of the gasoline produced in the country is not converted into end consumer product,” he explained.

Venezuela oil crisis has sunk the economy and created hyperinflation, forcing more than two million Venezuelan to flee the country due to food and medicine shortages. Maduro regime involvement in money laundering and fraud is accelerating the economy meltdown. The end of the socialist troika of Cuba, Venezuela and Nicaragua is in sight.

PDVSA annual oil production is the lowest in the last 70 years. Fuel shortages are taking place across the country. Venezuela largest refinery still is not back in line, and the other four are operating at 25% of their capacity. Venezuelan have to deal with regular power outages and lack of public transport.

Venezuela’s Nicolás Maduro begins new term as ‘illegitimate’ president

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro began a new six-year term Thursday more isolated than ever, with his enemies dubbing him Latin America’s latest “dictator” and once-reliable allies shunning him on the international stage.

Spurned by Venezuela’s opposition-controlled congress, which usually swears in presidents, Maduro, 56, took his oath of office before the Supreme Court. At the same time, in Washington, D.C., 19 nations of the Organization of American States voted “not to recognize the legitimacy” of Maduro’s new term.

In a remarkable shift, Haiti and several other Caribbean nations bucked their longtime ally and oil benefactor to join the likes of the United States, Colombia and Perú in condemning Maduro. It marked the first time Haiti had voted with Washington against Venezuela after years of trying to remain neutral and abstaining from previous resolutions.

On January 13, Juan Guaido, president of the National Assembly of Venezuela, was briefly detained by the secret police of Nicolas Maduro. The 13 countries of the Lima Group, condemned his detention and hold Maduro government responsible for his safety.

The National Assembly, elected by 80% of the votes in favor of the opposition, which was stripped of its power by Maduro regime, is the legitimate representative of the Venezuelan people, and should be in charge of a transitional government.

Maduro regime establishment of wage and price controls, decimation of the upper and middle class and redistribution of wealth to reduce inequality, has cripple the country economy, provoking the fly of 3 million people and a severe crisis due to shortages of food and medicines. The best way to solve a problem is to attack its cause, Maduro regime has to go one way or another.

Hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan made a massive protest against Maduro illegal regime as can be seeing in videos and photos of the protest calling for freedom. Forting American countries, including the U.S., recognized the new president Juan Guaido, and the Organization of American States (OAS) has also recognized him.

In retaliation Maduro brock relations with U.S. and order its diplomats out of the country. But Trump administration said Maduro does not have legal authority to do that and the diplomats would stay. Venezuelan are in the path to freedom.

Video of the protest in Caracas:

Republican Senator Marco Rubio in his Twitter account warned Maduro of grave consequences if he harm any U.S. diplomat.

Marco Rubio
✔@marcorubio

U.S. diplomats in #Venezuela should present their credentials to President @jguaido. Maduro has no authority to expel anyone.

And trust me on this one, if Maduro is stupid enough to test @realdonaldtrump by harming any U.S. diplomat, the consequences would be swift & severe.

During an emergency session of the UN Security Council on 01/26/2019, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, “The time is now to support the Venezuelan people, to recognize the new democratic government led by interim President Guaido, and end this nightmare. No excuses…. But no regime has done more to sustain the nightmarish condition of the Venezuelan people than the regime in Havana. For years, Cuban security and intelligence thugs, invited into Venezuela by Maduro himself and those around him, have sustained this illegitimate rule.”

He also said, “And I want to be 100 percent clear: President Trump and I fully expect that our diplomats will continue to receive protections provided under the Vienna Convention. Do not test the United States on our resolve to protect our own people.” The ball is on Maduro court now.

Spain, Germany and England, are urging members of the European Union so support Juan Guaido.

More than 16 persons have been killed during the protest marches and over 300 persons have been detained. There is a long list of wounded and injured still to be accounted for. Over 300,000 people participated in the protest march in Caracas along. The Inter-American Commission of Human Rights asks Maduro regime to respect the freedom, life and integrity of the protesters.

Jesus Alberto Milano Mendoza, Mayor General of the Venezuela Army, who was discharge in 2017 by the Maduro regime, in a video sent a message of support to Juan Guaido and asks the armed forces not to ignore the situation of the country. He said, “We do not want it to be a government or a military transition, we want it to be the people at the hands of our president Juan Guaido, commander-in-chief of the FANB, who will decide what will be the best way for a better future.”

A general from the Venezuelan air force has announced he no longer recognises Nicolas Maduro as the country's president, in what appears to be the highest ranking military defection to hit the regime.

In a video circulating on social media on Saturday ahead of mass protests planned in Caracas, General Francisco Esteban Yanez Rodriguez says he has disavowed the "dictatorial" authority of Mr Maduro and now recognises Juan Guaido, the self-declared interim president, as Venezuela's leader.

Wearing military uniform, Gen. Yanez identifies himself as director of strategic planning in the high command of the Venezuelan air force. His role and identity corresponds with that listed on the force's website.

The general claims that 90 per cent of the country's armed forces "are not with the dictator, they are with the people of Venezuela". The general claims the Maduro has two planes in standby to flee the country.

Sandokan:

Unfortunately for the Venezuelan National Assembly, it does not have the constitutional power to remove the president from office. That power lies with the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (The Supreme Court) and the National Assembly can only ratify the court's decision or veto it. Thus this is an empty gesture with no basis in Venezuelan law and it is in violation of the Constitution of Venezuela. So was Juan Guaido's public declaration that he is the interim president of Venezuela. The constitution does not give the National Assembly nor the President of the Assembly the power to do that, unless the president and the line of succession are absolutely absent, which they are not. Finally spokespersons for the opposition and the National Assembly have said they will not follow the constitution should the president be removed because they will not hold new elections within 30 consecutive days of any presidential ouster. They claim to need more time to remove and replace electoral deputies and to redistrict voter districts. In other words they cannot "fix" the new election in time if they follow the constitutional time limit. So it's one bunch of fraudsters trying to kick out and replace another bunch of fraudsters in a high stakes power game which could lead to civil war. Yup, that should fix things nicely.

Cheers.

There is a recall mechanism built into the Venezuelan constitution by Hugo Chavez (Article 72 IIRC) in order to force a new election if enough Venezuelans sign a petition saying they want a sitting president out. This recall was used to force President Hugo Chavez to hold a re-election in the mid 2000's which he won in a landslide victory. The fact that the opposition cannot gather enough signatures even in this time of extreme economic hardship speaks volumes to how truely unpopular the opposition in control of the National Assembly is to most Venezuelans. If they could use Article 72 of the Constitution they would have but they know that they wouldn't win the re-election vote, thus they opt for a coup d'etat instead of a constitutional recall.

Cheers.

Well, how many desperate Venezuelans have left, and poured as refugees into the neighboring countries? 4 million, I think? Maybe if those who were most damaged by the Maduro government had stayed, they'd have signed the petition in sufficient numbers.

GreatNews2night:

Yup, democracy works for those who turn up. Running away solves nothing. But with between 7 to 9 million committed Chavistas in Venezuela even the estimated 3 million of the Venezuelan diaspora might not be enough to to win the re-election vote even if they got enough people to sign up for the petition to hold it.

U.S. aid at a loading dock in Cucuta, Colombia, awaits to be delivered in Venezuela. Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro has said he won’t let the food and medicine enter the country, fearing that it’s a pretext for a coup or armed invasion. JIM WYSS MIAMI HERALD

CUCUTA, COLOMBIA

A call goes out and thousands of Venezuelans rush into Colombia, ignoring threats from their own military. Soon, they’re swarming back across the border carrying bags full of life-saving food and medicine.

That’s one of the scenarios being floated as Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro continues to reject international aid — going so far as to blockade a road that might have been used for its delivery.

On Friday, Lester Toledo, who represents Venezuela’s interim President Juan Guaidó and is in charge of the international aid effort, hinted that a “river of people” might be summoned to move goods that are being collected near the Colombian border town of Cúcuta.

Recalling an incident in 2016, when white-clad Venezuelan women pushed through police barricades to go shopping in Colombia, Toledo suggested it might happen again.

February 9, Colonel Ruben Paz Jimenez who is a military doctor, said in a video, Ninety percent of us in the armed forces are really unhappy. We are being used to keep them in power”. He urged his fellow soldiers to help allow humanitarian aid into Venezuela.

February 11, Interim President Guaidó said on Twitter that they have delivered the first shipment of humanitarian aid to the Asociación de Centros de Salud (AVESSOC) that would provide 1.7 million rations for children and 4,500 supplements for pregnant women.

Tuesday 12, Venezuelan will gather in a near future to demand Maduro's resignation, and will try to bring U.S. aid across the Colombian border. The confrontation is reaching a boiling point.

Venezuela's Maduro threatened by Cuba: Mary Anastasia O'Grady
Venezuela'''s Maduro threatened by Cuba: Mary Anastasia O'''Grady

Eric Krasting, Fox Business•February 19, 2019

President Trump, in major policy speech on Monday, said that he plans to banish socialism in “our hemisphere.”

“The twilight hour of socialism has arrived in our hemisphere and frankly in many, many places around the world,” Trump said. “The days of socialism and communism are numbered, not only in Venezuela but in Nicaragua and in Cuba as well.”

However, Mary Anastasia O’Grady, a columnist at the Wall Street Journal and Latin America watcher, said Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro won’t be pushed out easily.

“I think he’s still there because the Cubans have told him, if you step down, we kill you,” she told FOX Business’ Stuart Varney on Tuesday. “The Cuban’s want him to hold on. Cuba wants to maintain that.”

O’Grady added that the terrorist group Hezbollah is also in Venezuela and could create a problem.

“Hugo Chaves was importing Iranians for many years. They had direct flights from Caracas to Tehran—and they weren’t to go on vacation,” she said. “They were giving them Venezuelan passports so that they could travel throughout South America… and there’s lots of ugly things that have been put in place by this regime just for this day—they were preparing for this all along.”
Maduro is between a rock and a hard place. O’Grady is right, remember how the Castroit regime in 1973 send Manuel ‘Barbarroja’ Piñeiro, head of the Minister of the Interior sin charge of the state security and Antonio De La Guardia, a Minister of the Interior Coronel, to ‘help’ the socialist president of Chile Salvador Allende.

Allende faced widespread public opposition and lost the military support and it launched a coup. Allende and close associates were in the palace surrounded by troops, and he was offered to leave the country in safety by the military. He agree to leave the presidential palace with his party that included his daughters who left, and he promise to follow. When the soldiers entered the room found him dead. Did he committed suicide or was killed? Neither the weapon, an AK-47 giving to him by Castro, nor the bullets were recovered.

Allende security team was headed by Antonio De La Guardia. Maduro, whose security force is headed by Cubans, could meet the same destiny. In the last three days a total of 326 soldiers have deserted and crossed over to Colombia. The good thing about this is how bad it is getting.

Hopeful Signs for Venezuela from the US in the Last 24 Hours
Hopeful Signs for Venezuela from the US in the Last 24 Hours

The United States is giving signs that it is prepared to intervene in Venezuela, in the wake of the humanitarian disaster caused by Nicolas Maduro's socialist policies.

By Vanesa Vallejo Last Updated Mar 12, 2019

Guaido-Trump.jpeg

Guaido is opening the door to a foreign military intervention, and has called for the end of Venezuelan oil shipments to Cuba (PanAm Post).

Venezuela has already endured more than 100 hours of a widespread blackout. In Caracas electricity has been restored in some places, but others remain in the dark. Yesterday Caracas residents in the San Agustín district filled water buckets from the streams that flow into the Guaire River. The despair is such that people are forced to collect water from the tributaries of a dangerously polluted river.

In Lídice Venezuelans collected water from a ravine, and in Barquisimeto they bathed in streams and even in sewers. Nicolás Maduro’s response was to send soldiers to prevent people from collecting these polluted waters. He also attacked journalists who tried to cover these events.
Currently there are still several states without power, among them Táchira, Mérida, Portuguesa, Lara, Zulia, Anzoátegui, and Barinas.

Guaido decision not to ship more oil to Cuba have opened the door for the U.S. navy to interdict oil shipments to Cuba. Already Bolton said that “those who facilitate the oil shipments that they will face problems with the US government if the shipments continue.” This could escalate to a full maritime blockade of Venezuela to bring an end to Maduro’s regime.

What makes a body plump for the US to overthrow the governments of sovereign nations. That is material support for terrorism as defined by the USA and pretty much every nation in the world.

The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations defines terrorism as "the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives" (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85).

That is how the CIA/US governments always work.

Supporting this kind of terrorism is incredibly evil.
