It said the opposition had succeeded in gathering 1% of voter signatures in all 24 of Venezuela's states.The move is the first part of the opposition's push for an early end to President Maduro's term in office.
The National Electoral Council (CNE) said Mr Maduro's opponents had cleared the threshold of obtaining 200,000 valid signatures on a petition demanding that the president face a recall referendum.

The opposition to Nicolas Maduro has succeeded in the first step to initiate a recall against him. They have not announced a date for start of the next step.
 
Good, but it is still unclear if they can both collect enough signatures fast enough in the second round and if the corrupt Supreme Court will let them.

Yup, the sad part is that Venezuela's checks and balances against a powerful executive branch arent working. It will be an uphill battle before they can legally oust Maduro.
