Pandemic slows, but not stops, Hamas' terrorism industry

Hamas headquarters in the Gaza Strip is working around the clock to try and recruit operatives in the West Bank while for the time being, health authorities have succeeded in preventing an outbreak in the crowded coastal enclave.

Kudos for keeping the virus at bay....

But they are still assholes for continuing their terrorist ways.

Well, did israel stop expanding their settlements on occupied Palestinian land?

Israel should just wage all out war on Hamas and end it. I'm tired of this controversy.

Did the Palestinians give up their settlements on occupied Israeli land?

They can't "end it" if ending it means annexing the occupied territories. That would give the Palestinians a vote and Israel would no longer be a Jewish state. So they have to maintain the status quo. But they still want the land, just for their own people. So they continue to build settlements on occupied territory.

Not necessarily.

You're just demonstrating that you don't have a firm grasp of the issues. That's nothing to be ashamed of. It's a complicated issue. But you should stop speaking on the issue until you understand it better, because that would be something to be ashamed of.

Search "israel demographic problem" into your favorite search engine and do some reading. You will find that it is a very real concern in israel. If they want to stay Jewish and democratic, they cannot annex Palestine. But they want the land. So they build settlements on occupied territory. Stopping the settlements is always the primary precondition for peace talks. But israel never stops building settlements on occupied land. It is the calculus of the situation. Endless war is the status quo that israel must maintain to solve their demographic problem.

Digger:

Regarding the "Demographic Problem" you may find this Israeli Government document leaked to the public in 1976 enlightening. It was written by an Israeli Government member named Ysrael Koenig and was submitted to the Rabin government the same year that six Arab Israeli citizens who were protesting the first Land Day demonstration were gunned down by mEmbers of the IDF and Israeli police. Many of the policies outlined in this document have been followed by the State of Israel for 44 years now and some predate the Koenig Memorandum going back to 1950.

The policies in it make it clear why many Palestinians continue to resist Israeli occupation and illegal annexation by any and all means at their disposal, even in a pandemic.

Cheers and be well.

This is never going to go away, at this point all that is left is fighting it out until one side is standing with the other side destroyed.

Welcome to the ultimate conclusion of systems of belief...

It's not occupied and never in history there was palestinian country which own these territories.

1. There are about a half of million Jews in Judea and Samaria, any suggestion to evict them all is doomed to failure.
2. "Stopping the settlements" is precondition only if you want Jewish free country. Why Jews are not allowed to be there too? In Israel for example there are 2 million arabs.

The Romans called it palestine before the ottoman empire, and the British called it palestine afterwards. It's palestine.

The UN calls it occupied. The EU calls in occupied. The world court calls it occupied. It's occupied.

This is such level one bull****. Does anyone have something to say on the subject that isn't a talking point that I debunked 15 years ago?

Meh... They're not the only ones who cannot get behind ceasefires during a pandemic...

At least their reasoning is consistent and tangible.

Not a fan of hamas...but you know what they say about glass houses and stuff... ;)

Palestinians were given Gaza. Soon it was turned into an armed camp from which Hamas could launch tens of thousands of attacks upon innocent civilians.

Syria Palestinia. Romans tended to rename many areas as a form of obliteration of the original owners. It was an AREA under the Roman rule.

It was and AREA under Byzantium.

Later it was an AREA under the Ottomans.

It hasn't been an actual nation/state since the diaspora...

1) um, ok.

2) is that a sincere question? The israeli settlements aren't just Israelis moving into Palestine and living there mixed with the Palestinian population. It's taking occupied Palestinian land, kicking the Palestinians off of it, and building walled cities for israeli citizens. If you don't see why that's illegal, read this.

So what?

They were given their own land? How magnanimous. Did israel ever stop building settlements on Palestinian land? No. They should not expect peace until they stop committing war crimes.

If america were occupied by a foreign army who were building walled off cities and moving their population into the country without giving us the right to vote to gain representation in the government that controlled the army that controlled our borders, would you give them a moment's peace until they stopped?

It never was "their own land".

It was Egyptian occupied until the Israelis occupied it and later ceded it to the Palestinians.

And your analogy fails. The United States is a distinct sovereign state.
