U.S Citizen Faces Death Penalty for Selling Jerusalem Land to Jews

My parents bought their house in 1950 in Chicago, and written into the contract was they could not sell to Blacks or Puerto Ricans.

Wow. those were the days inter-racial marriage was illegal in many states and supported by the Bible. The good old days!

Land purchase =/= Selling national secrets AKA espionage..

There is no "existential threat" in the sale of a lot of land.

It isn't existential at all, since the plot in question, and the broader purchase of land in Jerusalem or Area C of the WB, has zero impact on whether the Palestinians could achieve the minimum viable scale for a functioning state.

As strictly speaking they do not need those territories for a state (i.e., the territories are not necessary for a Palestinian state to exist and to be of sufficient scale that it would not necessarily collapse), the previous poster mischaracterized the need for murdering people who sell land to Jews. Not really surprising, of course, as that sort of thing tends to happen all the time among anti-Israel types, but worth noting nonetheless.

Well they seem to hold a lot of sway and no one in the Democratic Party structure seems outright willing to call them out for anti-semitism. Their own base despises Israel and practicing Jews.

And the democrats could expel those members from caucus and committees if they had a problem with this.

We have in Washington a total right wing kook named Matt Shea, and he finally did enough kooky things the State Republicans stripped him of caucus membership and committee assignments. Steve King was disowned over far less.

These stories tick me off because we all know who’s going to defend the Palestinian actions. It’s the leftists here at DP. Several of them are already hear saying the Palestinians are being reasonable and selling a house is equal to treason by the Rosenbergs, and all that stuff, and they will never ever say unambiguously they condemn the Palestinian Authority

The sheer number of times a new anti-Israel poster comes along here and lo and behold they identify as a "socialist" or equivalent is remarkable.

Fledermaus:

There is in Palestine and especially East Jerusalem when the people buying the land are citizens of a state which is attempting to annex your territory by any and all means. Both national secrets and land lots can be existential threats if they fall into the hands of your enemies.

Cheers.
Evilroddy.

Except objectively speaking this is not an existential threat.

But yours is not a serious argument, so it doesn't really matter.

Existential threats can be incremental, like the glacier melting in the Hindu Kush which will deprive India of more and more fresh water. If the citizens of the State of Israel gobble up more and more land belonging to Palestinians then that land loss in conjunction with the illegal seizures and settlement of other Palestinian's lands constitutes an incremental but existential threat to the Palestinian Nation.

Cheers.

We won’t though.

At the end of the day this guy despite possessing USA citizenship chose to live and do business in what essentially is a corrupt failed state. That carries risks.

I see this as a reason to refuse to expend any political energy on Palestine’s behalf against Israel.

But military intervention?

Meh no

EMNoS:

So is Israel the corrupt failed state or is Palestine the corrupt failed state? Your comment is ambiguous.

Cheers.

Palestine.

Israel is one of the very few functioning states in the Middle East.

And yet you ignore Steve King. According to your logic, he represents the Republican Party.

EMNoS:

If Palestine is a failed state then it is a state nonetheless. That is even more progressive than I will go. Who knew you could take a position to the left of me. I don't believe Palestine is a state at all (yet). But you apparently do! Go figure. You're clearly a closet lefty! You poor conflicted soul; release your inner Jesse Jackson or AOC if your closet is bigger than I surmise! ;)

Cheers.

BDS isn't calling for Israel to cease existing.

Cut to the chase.

Islam is calling for Israel to cease to exist.

You can sugarcoat, or spin it any way you like, but the answer will always be the same.

Radical Islam is. Why do you think I disagree with you?

APL:

Alas, some leaders in the movement do in fact call for the destruction of the State of Israel. But nothing is stopping people who don't want to see Israel destroyed as a state from starting their own global BDS-style movements for less radical change on the part of the State of Israel.

I am sure some of them are for the destruction of the State of Israel. But that isn't what BDS is about.

Are not Egypt, Jordan and Turkey parts of Islam? They have signed treaties recognising the State of Israel as a legitimate state. You're painting Islam with very broad strokes as usual and a betting person might wager that this is done to demonise and dehumanise a whole religion. May I suggest you read the ME-I/P Forum rules and martial law regime so that you don't get yourself in trouble here. You need to be very careful here or you get whacked by the mods. :) Just trying to be helpful.

There is no Moderate Islam
There is no Radical Islam
There is just Islam.
It is fully documented.
Granted it has been hijacked by many peaceful groups, but they also, are not denying the written documentation

I willfully admit I am demonizing the religion, It is fully documented.
You cannot change what was written 1200 years ago.

I can prove anything I say about Islam, from Islamic text.

Is that why 21% of Israel citizens are Muslims?
