Jews and Arabs are NOT different races. So how can anyone accuse a Jew or Arab of racism when they criticize the other? And how can either side be accused of genocide when they try to kill the other?

The accusation of racism is being applied to almost every conflict these days. It makes debating really easy, but it also makes it stupid.

Jews and Arabs differ cultural and ethnically. But race has absolutely nothing to do with it.

The P/I argument should be unemotional, non-ideological, and scientific. What can we understand from the long history? How an we evade bias and judgementalism?

I think we should start with the premise that neither side is all bad and neither is all good.

There is a leftist narrative that says Israel is an oppressive colonial power. I think we should be very skeptical of that narrative. They also portray the Palestinians as innocent indigenous people, which seems very inaccurate.

Is there any way to get past the bias and anger and see the situation more objectively?

Human beings are 99.5-99.9% identical genetically. A little skin tone and nose shape difference is irrelevant in the larger scheme of things. The main difference between human beings is cultural. Consider that Barack Obama is over half white yet identifies as black. That's not racial, that's cultural. The Jewish/Arab thing you mentioned is also cultural. Take a Jewish baby and a Palestinian baby, switch them at birth and come back 20 years later. The Jewish baby would likely become a rock-throwing, Jew-hating Palestinian waiting for his chance to become martyred and the Palestinian baby would be a staunch supporter of Israel manning the walls against terrorists. All cultural.

Colon Krapernick is black, but raised by two white parents.

Yes, the P/I conflict is all cultural, very little genetic difference. Genetics are not entirely irrelevant though, and some things are inherited. But a lot is cultural, especially in P/I, where both sides are similar genetically.

And there are conflicts between different Muslim sects. No one can blame those on racism. Not everything is racism, and most things aren't.

That doesn't mean anything. There are obviously inherited differences between people. We are almost genetically identical with chimpanzees.

Really? I have no doubt there are many racists who want to make a big deal about that 0.1-0.5%. Some to the point of mass murder. Human history is full of it.

No doubt you believe some humans are closer to chimps than others.

Racism is an excuse overplayed all over, the main causes in the Palestine/Israel conflict are not race.

The Japanese and Koreans are almost identical with each other but they are deadly foes. There is no shooting war between the two Asian nations unlike what is going on in Israel but a trade war is ongoing. Historical grievances are behind the nationwide boycott of Japanese goods in Korea.

What is sad, and unfortunate is that we cannot even discuss this honestly without violating the rules set up by the mods.

We can make up stuff, but we cannot use actual events, quotes, reasons, belief's, cultures, etc.
There is a lot to this issue, and why the mods are intentionally censuring it, is beyond me.

There's always an option to try apply the exact same standards to both parties if you want to try for a little more objectivity. I think it also helps to drop the Left V Right perspective especially when it is obvious to yourself that you are pretty firmly in one camp due to your personal make up/preferred perspectives/life experiences etc etc

If you want some examples I would be glad to provide them but be prepared for some unpleasant feelings in the discussion

I agree that some of the rules here are ridiculously constrictive/impractical for honest discussion but it is what it is and you can still try to engage with people despite those restrictions

Yes, give back the occupied territories to the Palestinians and revive the two state solution. Easy peasy.

That is not what I said, and you know it. There are genetic differences between individuals and between groups, and between closely related species. Most DNA is the same, and the small differences in DNA can make big differences.

Scientists know this, but you don't. You don't want truth, you want to believe whatever your ideological fairy tale says.

And how do you determine what is a Palestinian,
ie. Yasser Arafat, head of the PLO, was Egyptian, and would not qualify.
Most of the people there have blood links to surrounding countries.
How do you monitor weapons being smuggled in.
What do the Jews do when the next rocket attack comes in from a state, declare war and wipe it out.

what do you do with the millions of Jews there.

I don't think your answer even makes sense until you give your home back to the natives.

Many similar examples can be found of groups that hate each other, yet are similar genetically.

The United States is actually unusual in that race became a focus of hatred. That is because American settlers bought slaves from Africa, and Africans look very different from Europeans.

In most cases of slavery, whites owned whites and blacks owned blacks. The unusual situation in the US caused people to falsely connect racism and inter-group hatred.

I don't get it. We are anonymous here, so we should be able to speak freely. I am interested in understanding P/I better. That's all I wanted from this forum.

I am absolutely NOT left or right! Just because I criticize "left" doesn't mean I am "right." That's silly binary thinking.

And what makes you imagine the Palestinians would ever accept the existence of Israel?

you (if you have ~ peach colored skin) and Michelle Obama/LL Cool J are 99.5% the same and yet a ton of people in our country look down on those two but not you.

it's all so stupid.

You are making a big deal out of minor, superficial physical features.

I am going out on a limb here with the main reason there will never be peace.

The Muslims have a saying meaning once land has been taken in a holy war, it is always Islamic land, even though they don't control it. Spain is another example of land the Islamites want under their control even though it is not Islamic.

Islam has written orders from God to kill the Jews, and Israel has become the gathering point where they will be killed before Armageddon sets in.

Now, I can prove what I just said with Islamic doctrine, and quotes from modern day main players, but just saying it may violate me.
and this is just a tip of the iceberg.

Well as I already said, we have about 99% the same DNA as chimpanzees. So talking about DNA in this context is meaningless.

But Africans and Americans are the same race, and most differences are probably superficial.

And as I also already said, race and hate became associated in the US, but hate does just fine without race.

No I am NOT. You assume I am a racist, because you failed to understand what I actually said.
