**Breaking news from Israel

Reading the posts in this thread it's really amazing how many do not have a clue on the history of the land and the conflict yet are so eager to just discuss it.
There was never a Palestinian state and the name Palestine has had nothing to do with Arabs initially.

They were given land that they turned into a base for terror.

Why would Israel duplicate that mistake?

News flash...

Some were forced. Others fled.

All because the Palestinians could not stand the thought of a Jewish state and went to war.... And lost.

So you admit they were forced from their lands into occupied zones controlled completely by Israel, but don't recognize why generations of people who suffer under the mistakes of their ancestors are willing and ready to become violent to fight back. You 100% would become violent too against foreign occupiers if the US was treated like Palestine was by a foreign power.

All these chest beating conservative "molon labe" "don't tread on me" "come and take it" gun fellators constantly talk about how they'd turn violent the second their government steps out of line, but are completely unsympathetic to desperate Palestinians trying to fight back against Israel any way they can. Neither side wants the other to exist, both sides attack innocent civilians for political gain. There is no high ground in this mess.

a difference without distinction, they are refugees from their original land concentrated into territory they do not control. It was not "given" in any sense of the word.

Uh, it was a Palestinian state, overrun by illegal immigration. The Israelis then and now are not willing to allow either a shared or two state solution....hence further land grabs by Israel.

*Uh, it was a Palestinian state,*

There is not now nor ever has been a Palestinian state, a Palestinian people, or culture.

Some fled, others forced off lands. Yep.

Just as Jews were forced off Muslim lands in 1948. Muslims bragged the Jerusalem was free of Jews for the first time in history. Jews were evicted in practically every surrounding nation.

As to being violent because of an invader....

One would think the Palestinians of Gaza would have become less violent now that they had their own territory. The exact opposite happened.

Uh, no.

They were under British administration at that time.
Uh, they were the majority population, they had control of councils and courts, it was internationally recognized as Palestine.

The point remains, they were not "given" Gaza and the West Bank, they were forced into those areas.....even by your own admission.

It is not "their territory" in the sense of a sovereign state.....hence Israels ability to continue to grab the land.

That is insane blabbering, totally outside of the realm of reality.

There have been people in the area of Palestine.....

Different people over the ages... And different invaders... The original Philistines (Palestinians) were removed hundreds of years before Christ. The Jews were removed AD by the Romans. The Ottomans populated the area. The Greeks. The Persians.

Few areas have been more over run than the middle east.

Gaza was Egyptian occupied territory. The West Bank was Jordanian occupied territory. Until 1967.

Gaza was indeed given to the Palestinians in Gaza. Who in turn turned it into a base for terrorism.

Which has nothing to do with the posters denial of a Palestinian people....a violation of this forums rules.

not until 1959

The West Bank was Jordanian occupied territory. Until 1967.
Uh, it was Palestine Mandate land prior to 1948.

Gaza was indeed given to the Palestinians in Gaza. Who in turn turned it into a base for terrorism.
It is an occupied territory, without sovereignty, made up of a population who are war refugees. It was their land, they are refugees within their own land.

I am speaking to the claim of a Palestinian nation/state/political entity.
He is not, he is denying the existence of a Palestinian people.
It is a fact that many people have laid claim to the area.
Non-sequitur.

Incorrect.

You stated "It is not "their territory" in the sense of a sovereign state...."

I asked "Why not?"

Pretty clear and concise.
Why are they not a sovereign state? Because they are not, I have no idea why this concept of what is a sovereign state eludes you.

not until 1959

Gaza was taken by Egypt in 1948.

Mandatory Palestine was under British administration. Old boss, new boss.

It is no longer occupied. And not all Gazans are war refugees. Nor does it matter to why they haven't declared sovereign state status.

He may be. I don't care. Report him if you wish.

And it is a fact that over time the people of and the rulers over the area of Palestine have changed... Drastically is some cases.
