And, surely it does merit a share of the blame. The result of emotionally charged protesters against what is largely a symbolic act on the part of the United States and Israel was totally predictable. The rest of the blame is on insisting on declaring that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, which it has been for some time anyway, but making a big deal about it is what stirred up the nutters in Palestine.

The situation could have been handled better, of course, but when has anything in the middle East been handled well?

Horse****. Hamas has been sending Palestinians in waves against the Israeli border since 30 March. This has nothing to do with the embassy.

Israel won the war...get over it... You not wanting to get over is just going to continue the deaths. Israel is a relatively Liberal and free country in a sea of radical religious autocracies. If they can bring order to the land they control.... everything will be much better.

That's the horrific irony. Leftists that regularly vent their hatred against Israel trip over themselves to side with people that kill men for being gay and women for being raped or talking back to their husbands. Their primary motivating factor is something as petty as their hatred of conservative Christians.

Equating Israel with Hamas is supporting Hamas. Hamas doesn’t care if you like or defend them. You can say how terrible Hamas is (y’know, to be “fair”) just so long as you say the same about Israel but the two are not moral equivalents.

Wow. Putting blame where it's due. A breath fresh air to say the least. The previous administration would never stand by Israel like that. Civilian does not equal innocent. Many murderers are civilians. That march on Israel’s border is basically financed by Hamas and the march itself is in support of an end to Israel.

So in your mind, the Palestinians that are being killed are 'innocent civilians'? Right? The poor Palestinians are just sitting at home eating chips and humus and are being attacked out of nowhere.

Hamas is coordinating the riots intentionally putting Palestinians in harms way. Israel is responding. You know how no innocent Palestinians die? They dont riot and attack border points under the direction of a terrorist organization.

Incidentally, I addressed the question.

You are asking why it is ok for the Jews to defend themselves so successfully that none of them got killed by those trying to kill them.

The answer is because the "not enough dead Jews" approach to self defence is a nonsensical one. The morality of defending your people is not based on reducing but not eliminating casualties on your side, like some sort of optimization curve. The question is how do we get to zero in the face of a massive threat. The Israelis did it very successfully, in spite of sustained efforts to use human shields to allow for mass infiltration into Israeli communities.

So sorry about the lack of "success" for the Palestinians, chief. Inshallah they continue to have the same success rate, but maybe they should think about whether trying to breach the fence to kill Jews is really what they should be doing with their lives.
