Jerusalem status: Tear gas fired at Bethlehem protest - BBC News

The Administration’s timing is YUGE! Historic!

Yup. The Americans' fault that the Palestinians react with violence.

Just like it was the Jews fault for not letting Palestinian terrorists use the Church of the Nativity as a shelter to allow them to continue to plan and execute attacks.

Just like it is the Jews fault that Bethlehem has been systematically depopulated of Christians and is now a virtually entirely Muslim city.

Always somebody else's fault...

Happy Hanukkah.

No, no, not ‘Americans,’ just one........

Right. Didn't realize the Palestinians were automaton robots, programmed and expected to act uniformly in response to stimuli, such that anything they do is directly attributable to those who provide the stimulus.

Thought they were supposed to be sentient human beings capable of a range of actions and responsible for them as fully formed adult humans.

I am impressed with your vocabulary and composition.

Their backs were sore from bending over.

But not his compassion.

If the roles were reversed...

Sorry, you mean all the times Jews rioted because the US denied their connection to Jerusalem and the Europeans said that the centre of the Jewish world is supposed to be Palestinian?

I think I missed those, you have a link?

A connection centuries severed compared to crap imposed in living memory to innocents.

The Israelis just use other methods to show their displeasure. Generally based on superior resources/access to power structures.

Sorry, you said if roles were reversed. I am curious as to when you have such examples of Jews rioting and trying to murder non-Jews because someone made a political decision they didn't like.

And since you don't have anything, you are shifting to something different and trying to say well they are bad actors for some unrelated reason.

But that's not the argument you were making.

I understand that the Act has been on the books since the 1990’s, also understand that the region involved needs no fuel to ignite unrest. Seems a ****ty time to drop this on the region. Just because you can.........

No, it seems like the perfect time (other than 60 years ago). Because the region is in a position where they can't pretend all of its problems are because of Israel, while the Palestinians are continuing to refuse to actually negotiate or make concessions about anything and acting like they have all the time in the world to continue to pursue their long term objective of Israel's destruction.

As stated your posts are impressive, we disagree and that’s ok.

I think you know what I meant.

That if Jews just living and minding their own business fled their homes because Jews attacked some Arab country and the Arab country won and when you came home you found a foreign Arab from another country in your home you would be pissed.

And probably stay pissed.

Might even commit some terrorism, considering it happened on your side too.

THAT'S the point.

Actual people are actually pissed off about things that actually happened to them and their families.

They hate the Jews for being Jews simply isn't an accurate statement. Unless "being Jews" means being the state actors who have done them wrong personally. Then maybe that.

Some, sure. But you paint with a brush far too wide which blurs the details to the point of uselessness.

And the refusal to address these issues on the part of Israel is a major reason things won't settle down.

Well like it or not the human moral compass is a thing, we can judge issues as they are and decide who is right and who is wrong. A serial murderer who will fail to murder his victim might be sad because of it, doesn't mean we should sympathize with him.

And if a bunch of people of the same race and culture of the serial killer who don't even know him get ground up that's OK too.

Any time any loon on any side does something terrible in the name of Jesus, for instance, we hear a wave of rebuttals bout how you can't judge conservatives or Christians because of what he did.

But its OK for Israel to do anything to any Palestinian because of what some ARAB did. Even if he's an insurgent of some kind.

And what is Israel doing to any Palestinian because of what some ARAB did, exactly?
Existing? Defending itself? Not being destroyed?

I don't know. Not so pissed at the poles anymore notwithstanding they seized all the homes we used to live in before our folks were deported to the camps.

The Iraqi and Yemeni and Moroccan and Egyptian Jews who were forced out and had their property confiscated are not rioting in the streets or committing random acts of violence against Muslims.

So I still don't think you're right or have any reality-based point to make here, other than you personally understand why they would be upset. And while you won't admit it exactly that logic goes to the next level among many pro-Palestinians to say that as a result they understand the kinds of violence, depravity and moral bankruptcy that the Palestinians embrace because of this grievance.

Might even commit some terrorism, considering it happened on your side too.

THAT'S the point.

Oh, nevermind. There it is...

Actual people are actually pissed off about things that actually happened to them and their families.

No, they are pissed because of the propaganda and the way they have been used by the Arab world as a weapon for 70 years. That's why the grandkids of the Moroccan or Iraqi Jews are doing ok and are decidedly non-terroristic notwithstanding they never got their properties back (and in the case of many of them lived in communities in those lands for millenia before the Arabs even left Arabia).

So your "explanation" does not support observations and your causality is not consistent with other data.

Which means you're wrong.

They hate the Jews for being Jews simply isn't an accurate statement. Unless "being Jews" means being the state actors who have done them wrong personally. Then maybe that.

Clearly that's why antisemetic attacks increase around the world every time there is a spat about Israel.

Again, observable data must be consistent with your theory. Or the theory should be rejected.

Didn't they give those morroccan and Iraqi Jews Palestinian homes in Israel? Iirc you said that earlier.

Didn't they give those morroccan and Iraqi Jews Palestinian homes in Israel? Iirc you said that earlier.

Who is they?

It was open to the Arab world to give houses to the Arabs displaced in their failed war to destroy Israel.

They chose to keep them in camps and systematically deny them and their children and grandchildren born in those countries rights in order to maintain them as continually aggrieved.

So again, that is the cause of Palestinian violence and rejectionism and suffering, combined with their continued refusal to accept Israel in any borders.

And again, your hypotheses have been shown to be inconsistent with the data. While you now try to ignore and shift the focus of discussion, it still means your explanation is wrong. So any policy prescriptions based on your misdiagnosis of the issues is less than relevant and should never be endorsed or followed by anyone interested in actually resolving the issue.

1. Israel takes control of Jerusalem.
2. Regain control of the Temple mount.
3. ???
