Re: Hate Group Implicated In Vicious Attack On Palestinian-American Professor
TheDemSocialist, Cryptic, Cigar, et al,
You have to be very careful about drawing conclusions based on these types of observations and incidents. What you think you see, and whom you perceive are the players, may not be what is being told.
The video interview with Max Blumenthal, who works for "
AlterNet" (
"AlterNet’s aim is to inspire action and advocacy on the environment, human rights and civil liberties, social justice, media, health care issues, and more.") is quite interesting.
And remember, the author of the story (
Christopher Mathias) opens with the comment: The JDL --- once a "right-wing terrorist group by the FBI --- is back. And will should also notice that a man walked into the middle of the group: “I am Palestine,” Danya says her father, a Palestinian-American
(Kamal Nayfeh), calmly told the JDL protester. That’s when the attack started.
Nah. They are still around just not really raging a armed struggle anymore.
(COMMENT)
Now remember that the protesters outside the Convention Center were basically a younger set of Jewish Americans that are anti-AIPAC and anti-Israel. It was not a crowd of JDL.
You should notice that the perpetrators charged with a misdemeanor count of simple assault
(two men Yosef Steynovitz, of Ontario, and Rami Lubranicki of New Jersey) were not claiming to be JDL or acting on behalf of the JDL. I suspect that is because the victim was somewhat culpable. The pro-Palestinian purposely provoked the unlawful behavior by the two pro-Israelis --- urging or inciting someone to behave unlawfully.
※ Who benefits from the fight?
※ Who instigate the fight by exploiting the situation?
※ Who gains from implicating the JDL in the fight?
※ Who gains from exaggerating the size, scope and nature of the event.
The entire event seems to have the overtones of a set-up
(trying to stir-up trouble). From an outside observers POV, I think it was very fortuitous that a video unit was right there ---
on the perfect location --- to record the action.
ABC News reported that the victim:
"The father, from Charlotte, North Carolina, was dropping his daughter off at a protest outside the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s Conference. Several groups were outside, some who did not agree with the protesters."
NOTE: Remember that Huffington Video directly accuses the JDL as the perpetrator. And that Blumenthal suggested that the external event was a Jewish lead protest (Jewish protestors that are opposed to the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee). That is not the case at all. It was (apparently) both Jewish and Palestinians involved in the protest. And the media implied that it is very common for the JDL to disrupt protests in this manner, when that is not true at all.
There is no question that the violent attack was wrong --- absolutely. But was there some invisible hand behind the action, orchestrating the violence? Don't expect the media to be truthful and honest; connecting the dots. The media slants it to fit their audience (info
taintment).
There is more going-on here than meets the eye.
Just one man's opinion.
Most Respectfully,
R
