Trump touts Prospects for great mideast peace deal[W:89]

Here are the facts that you want to ignore, President Donald Trump elected November 2016, Republicans take the Congress November 2016. It must be hard for you to be in the minority as you are unable to accept defeat

Still avoiding the facts.....still trying to argue that the dow was zero when Trump took office and trending sharply downward. Why can't you address the facts con? Why are you avoiding them?

Then you shouldn't have any problem telling me what it is in post 147 that is wrong and alternative facts? Is it President Hillary today with a Democratic Congress?

Why cant you deal with the facts Con? Why are you trying to argue that the dow was zero on the day Trump took office and was in sharp decline? Typical con.....when the facts clobber you....shuffle off to buffalo.

You have provided no facts, just more leftwing rhetoric, where did I say the stock market was at zero and trending downward? I gave you the links to the stock market with no one calling this the Obama rally and stock market after Trump was elected

Look, I have no idea what you are talking about where did I say that the dow was at zero when Trump took office? let me know when you are seceding again because with comments like this I worry about the state of California and the ability to grasp data

Con....the stock market has been sharply trending upward for the past 8 years. You act as if it just started on the day Trump took office. Why don't you address the facts instead of being blatantly dishonest.

The stock market is 20,600 today and experts call it the Trump rally. The Obama economic results were on the ballot in November and Republicans took the WH and Congress along with most state and local elections. One of these days you are going to realize you are on the losing side of every issue

Oh puh-lease con....you are still deflecting and being blatantly dishonest. Address the facts....address the fact that the Dow has been trending sharply upward for the past 8 years. Why do you keep avoiding the facts? Results don't matter to people like you.

Here address these facts

EO's to promote job growth and regulations reform in addition to keeping his campaign promise

Here are the results also you want to ignore

Fiat to invest 1 billion in US
Intel to invest 7 billion creating 3000 jobs
GM to invest 1 billion in US factories to create 1500 jobs

How many meetings did Obama have with business leaders?

Keep living in that leftcoast debt ridden utopia

More deflection....let me give you an easy one con. You don't even have to understand the math or the economics of it to answer this question so you might be able to handle it. Here it is....a really really easy one. Lets see if you can handle it.

When you look at the graph of the last 8 years of the Dow....is the red line with the arrow going up or down?

Show everyone here on DP that you are capable of answering a really simple question even if you can't handle the hard ones.

Don't need to look at the graph only basic civics to understand the affect of the GOP in legislation and mood of the country. You need to pay attention to the positives that I just posted and the direction this country is headed in terms of jobs and economic growth

Got to drive you crazy, Trump signs legislation undoing coal mining regulations. Now how about focusing on the thread topic

Wow Con....I truly believed that you might be able to answer a simple question like the one posed. I guess it just shows why you are never able to answer the hard ones. Carry on.

Disney, let's be clear anything that upsets you I am totally for and love what I am seeing Trump do. I actually ran a business and am excited about the direction we are moving and the attitude of businesses today. Business operate on a 5 year plan and make decisions on economic policies and direction of those policies which is why the stock market is going up. You want to focus on the Dow numbers and not what goes into them. Jobs are being created, taxes are going to be cut, regulations are going to be reduced and the days of stagnant GDP growth and slow job creation are over. The business community recognizes that as does the Stock Market.

There is a real disconnect here between what you see and what actually happens. How do you reconcile the Election loss with that booming stock market you want to credit Obama for? How do you reconcile the difference between campaign contributions from WS to Hillaryvs. Trump? You are typical of the left ignoring what is going on instead of interpreting the election results.

Here is what you want to ignore

Here’s what we found (figures are rounded):

Industry
Contributions to Clinton campaign
Contributions to pro-Clinton super PACs
Total
Securities and investment
$7.23 million
$51.4 million
$58.6 million
Miscellaneous finance
$2.55 million
$1.18 million
$3.74 million
Commercial banks
$1.9 million
$55,000
$1.96 million
Grand totals
$11.7 million
$52.6 million

Total $64.3 million

It’s also worth noting, as the Center for Responsive Politics has reported, that most of the "Wall Street" contributions benefiting Clinton "have come from a tiny group of ultra-wealthy, liberal donors who work in finance. Wall Street more broadly doesn’t have any outsized affection for Clinton, but a relative handful of donors who work in the industry have invested heavily in her."

Meanwhile, the corresponding figures for Trump and super PACs backing him total far less than $2 million.

Pretty sure all the "look at the stock market" stuff is just cherry-picked propaganda and meaningless.

Case in point re Obama. Market crashed because of the destruction of the credit markets. Would that have happened if it wasn't for initiatives to facilitate junk loans and ABCs by both parties? Probably not. Would the market have recovered without Obama? Most likely, although it is possible someone in power could have mucked up the response really badly. But could the recovery have gone better if it was someone else in power who was (1) very competent and (2) not an economic leftist? Most definitely.

So sure, props to Obama for spending (inefficiently) to fix the problem (sub-optimally), I guess.

As for just looking at the numbers and saying x here, y here therefore Obama caused the delta, we both know that sort of analysis is stupid (hopefully), even though everyone does it all the time. There are too many extraneous factors (in this case both the market over-reaction before Obama left and the gleeful reaction of the markets to him being replaced with Trump) to attribute cause to Obama's brilliance.

And of course performance of the Dow isn't really much of a proxy for economic productivity, unfortunately. Probably should be, but doesn't seem to work that way.

Then you better take it up with Hamas who apparently you don't believe is part of the Peace Process for without Hamas and Iran how can Israel ever live in peace and who controls the PLO?
Oh so now you want Hamas part of the peace process?! Great! Because thats probably the only realistic way forward..
From the same article, stop reading what you want to read and read the entire article
Why do you keep on bringing up the Cairo Declaration?

Why do you keep on bringing up the Cairo Declaration?

Like it or not Hamas IS part of the problem and with Iran's help will take over the PLO. Why do you keep ignoring that there will never be peace in the Middle East until the Arabs love their kids more than they hate Israel? Why do you ignore the influence of Iran in the region? You keep ignoring the actions of the Palestinians while focusing solely on Israel
