Does Israel have the right to build more ettlements on the West Bank?

Disregarding the above due to the lack of knowledge it shows still doesn't change the fact that your claim that Gazans " self rule " is evidently flawed

Egypt has one border with Gaza , Israel two and the sea takes the last space available

Oops... One side. Apologies.

One side not controlled by Israel.

I noticed no comment on "And do you have any clue WHY the restrictions are on the Israeli border and coastal waters?"

I'll maybe comment on what you post more regularly when you decide to quit inferring that I don't know what I'm talking about

As for your question , last response on this because it's nowhere near the OP theme....................... try the reason being that the Gazans , in Israeli opinion , voted the wrong way in a free election. As is so often the case , the champions of democracy tend only to support it when they like the result and see no contradiction in undermining it if they don't. I'm sure we're all familiar with the word used to describe such a position. Begins with H ends in Y

When cornered fall back on "off topic".

Got it.

The Palestinians voted in a terror group who expressly have as one of their objectives the eradication of Israel.

A group who has no problem with launching thousands of attacks on Israeli citizens.

If you want Gaza to be a fully independent nation, then each of those attacks are an act of war.

No cornering here............ you can always start a thread concerning the situation with Hamas , Gaza and Israel . In fact you can open it with this very post and I'll be happy to take part in it

Well that is the ultimate question. If we see Israel as having a right to exist...is a group that does not recognize their sovereignty or legitimacy as a nation...do they deserve respect? Validation? Idk. Tough call. Especially when we recognize the unsavory things Israel has done before.

The Palestinians have been supporting a two state settlement based on the 1967 borders since the 1970's , that's the de facto recognition of Israeli sovereignty .

As for the legitimacy argument consider this

Would you expect the first nation Americans to recognize the legitimacy of their displacement and dispossession in the creation of the USA ?

Are you aware that Gandhi never recognized the legitimacy of the partition of India into India and Pakistan ? The creation of the Pakistani state

Should we insist on holding the Palestinians to a higher moral standard than Gandhi ?

If you understand that the chief motor of the Palestinian Arab antagonism to Zionism was the fear that its realisation would engender their dispossession and displacement then the whole picture changes and the irrational becomes rational

lol.

This "de facto recognition" in the 1970s?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PLO's_Ten_Point_Program

Incidentally, can you link me to where Gandhi told his followers to strap on bombs, sneak past soldiers and blow up children? or where he incessantly trained society's children to embrace a death cult and dream of dying while murdering people? Where he taught that the filty feet of the Pakistanis should never be allowed to remain in Pakistan and that the Indian people should sacrifice everything to drive the Pakistanis into the sea?

It's like your post is from a bizarro world where everything is exactly the opposite of what it is here in real life...

Well , you bemoaned me for using a page from wiki recently that had nothing like the warning given to the one you now use yourself. I suppose there are no rules here against being inconsistent so.........

There is nothing " bizarro " in the post I put together

It is true that the Palestinians started to change their view concerning the two state solution in the 1970's

He was appointed by Yasser Arafat to be the first diplomatic delegate of the PLO to the UK in 1973, heading their Office in London. There, he began to promote co-existence between the Palestinians and Israelis, calling for a two-state solution to the Question of Palestine. In 1974 and 1975, Said Hammami, in interviews to journalists and newspaper opinion pieces, articulated what has sometimes been considered the first indication of PLO acceptance of a two-state solution.[1][2] A 1974 interview with Joseph Finklestone in The Jewish Chronicle was controversial among Israelis, because much of the Israeli populace of that period (including Golda Meir), held that "Palestinians" were not "a distinct entity" with a legitimate identity.[2]

Gandhi never thought the partition of India and Pakistan was a legitimate affair.

Who would expect first nation Americans to acknowledge that their displacement and dispossession of North America was legitimate ? Let alone denounce them for not agreeing to be forced into declaring such an immoral imposition ?

The only thing that's " bizarro " is that you believe that the Palestinians should be forced to proclaim that their displacement and dispossession was/is legitimate
