Would be good to have a thread on this, I think. At a minimum it will let all the BDS folks know which marvels of technology, agriculture and lifesaving medical research they should eschew.

Haifa team sires Intel's 'fastest-ever' processor | The Times of Israel

Intel Corp. announced Tuesday its most advanced, next-level processor, whose development was led by its facility in Haifa, Israel, with the promise of a double-digit rise in computer performance, longer battery life and better security.

The seventh-generation new Intel Core enhanced 14-nanometer-plus processor, called Kaby Lake, is its “strongest and fastest ever,” Intel said in a statement, and aims to meet the demands of increased connectedness and internet use, and growing consumption of high-quality video, ultra-high-definition (UHD) premium and user-generated content, 360-degree video formats, Virtual Reality and digital sports content. It will power ultra-thin notebooks and two-in-one laptop-tablet hybrids.

Intel's Haifa team also came-up with the Core architecture that usurped Intel's failing and languishing Pentium architecture during Pentium's 'Prescott' generation.

It (Core) was originally developed as a mobile solution, but it trounced Pentium so badly Intel expanded it throughout it's line making it the dominant architecture.

That's quite a coup!

Israel is definitely doing some cutting edge stuff. My pet innovation of Israel's is what it's doing with desalination technology. Though there are still several key stumbling blocks Israel is clearly leading the path in this industry.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnd some say it is a Windows 10 only processor... Further speeding up the conversion of older OS owners to Windows 10.....

ITS A CONSPIRACY!

Oh, wait.

Israeli hi-tech super algae can power a green energy revolution - Business & Innovation - Jerusalem Post

Israeli researchers have transformed humble pond slime into an engine to drive a green energy revolution.

Dr. Iftach Yacoby and his team at Tel Aviv University genetically altered single-celled algae, which naturally emit hydrogen throughout the day, allowing the organism to increase its efficiency to five times its natural ability.

...

The discovery means that in the future it will be possible to grow micro-algae with conventional farming methods so that all the necessary energy can be produced on a larger scale.

“Hydrogen is an energy source with huge advantages,” says Yacoby. “First, it has a tremendous energy content. The travel range of a hydrogen-powered car is more than 500 kilometers per five kilos of hydrogen, and an electric bicycle over 100 kilometers per 30 grams of the bicycle fuel. Secondly, hydrogen does not pollute at all. The process of using of electric fuel cell generates only water vapor, and exhaust emitted by a hydrogen-powered car contains only clean water that can even be suitable for drinking.”

Revolutionary technology reveals dazzling 'hidden' text on biblical-era shard | The Times of Israel

Using a modified household digital camera and a revolutionary new technique for performing multispectral imaging, an interdisciplinary team from Tel Aviv University has discovered never-before-seen Hebrew inscriptions on a First Temple-era shard. The discovery raises the possibility that other “blank” shards from the period may also contain undiscovered texts, and there are now plans for a wider reexamination of all shards from that time period.

It's pretty mind boggling. These guys modified a Canon DSLR to reveal clear text on pottery that is thousands of years old which was previously completely hidden to researchers. And these $5k cameras can be used to replace and improve on cameras that cost $100k.

• Israeli arms sales to Europe grew from $724M in 2014 to $1.63B in 2015

• Although the size of New Jersey Israel is one of the top 10 arms dealing nations in the world

• Israel produces 60% of all drones worldwide and sells to over 50 countries, at times selling to both sides of a given conflict, and Israel fueled the drones arms race between India and Pakistan
Palestine is an open air weapons testing and crowd control laboratory with Palestinians being used in the development phase; Gaza is a lab of mass destruction. US super bunker busters were supplied to the Israelis in 2014 and investors stock shot up; war is just business after all.

The “War in Terror” has been a boon to the industry, you’ve seen what amounts to advertisement in every “news” outlet, we are being whipped up into a frenzy once again. The industry also pioneers crowd control research on the Palestinians, and Israel is involved in the training of American forces and law enforcement. We see this in the militarization of our own police departments, Ferguson was but one example of how our system is prepping to Palestinianize our own population, and in fact Ferguson now has Israeli developed/sold skunk spray post the Ferguson events, although no incidents have yet been reported of use on American streets. It’s pretty clear that the Israeli occupation style power structure is moving toward the same in America; a warehousing of the poor in a post industrial age with diminishing living wage jobs and privatized for profit prisons complete with a return to convict leasing.

Much of the security monitoring and mass surveillance technologies are also produced in Israel and sold across the globe. “Targeted assassination” was invented in Israel, which Obama was quite fond of. Abu Ghraib torture methods? Israel.

The US and Israel are not allies. The US and Israeli arms dealers are allies, and war is the business they are both in. We are all collateral damage.

This is really amazing.

Israeli scientists 'print' world's first 3D heart with human tissue - HEALTH & SCIENCE - Jerusalem Post

A team of Israeli researchers has “printed” the world’s first 3-D vascularized, engineered heart.

On Monday, a team of Tel Aviv University researchers revealed the heart, which was made using a patient’s own cells and biological material. Until now, scientists have successfully printed only simple tissues without blood vessels.

***

The next step, they said, is to teach the hearts to behave like human hearts. First, they will transplant them into animals and eventually into humans. The hope is that within “10 years, there will be organ printers in the finest hospitals around the world, and these procedures will be conducted routinely,” Dvir said.

Amazing? It's completely insane. I'm just watching the report on the news and still can't believe they managed to do such a thing.
