Another Trump proposal got smashed by Merkel. Its amusing to watch, she either ignores him or neutralizes his international plans. That explains his fixation on Germany alot.

First she denied his invitation to the G7 summit, which robbed him of his propaganda show. Then she blocked his invitation for Putin.

Germany rejects Trump'''s call to re-admit Russia to the G7 - Business Insider

WTH is Trump inviting Putin in? He put a bounty on our soldiers' heads!

Germany self disbands their nuclear energy, and then has to make up for the deficit in power for utilities by buying natural gas from Russia (carbon fuel BTW), which only makes Russia MORE powerful.
And then the Germans whine about Trump inviting Putin to the G7.

Wouldn't you think that bringing Russia INTO better relations would be good for Germany? Russia ain't China, they don't have global power aspirations. All of Russia's interests are centered around sustaining their economy and standard of living, which is mostly centered around energy production. Russia ain't the ones manufacturing cheap Walmart house fans, and slave labor Nike tennis shoes.

Somebody explain to me how Russia is different than say Saudi Arabia in terms of their national economic goals?

Merkle is an idiot. Germany would be better off occupied by Russians than the way she has allowed her nation to be inundated with radical Islamic fundamentalist who are out raping German women. I'd take living in Moscow any day over living in some of the German and other European cities culturally destroyed by the waves of unchecked hostile Islamic and North African immigrants who refuse to assimilate.

As Trump said... that has not hit Trump's desk, so he never heard about it. And neither pal Putin nor AON ever told him about it, so how can it be true? Just because of fake news?

I am guessing you already do, tovarisch.

Trump has to help his buddy, Putin, out. How dare Germany be opposed to the Trump/Putin love?

You are obviously a Putin fan and that would be fine if you were in Russia. Here in America we don't like slimy thug Rooskie Dictators who threaten us with nuclear annihilation. We have a long history of that too.
As far as Germany phasing out nuclear power, that is the Govt. fulfilling the will of the people which I'm sure you are confused by also. But in a democracy fulfilling the will of the people is good governing. Putin spending his oil money to build a "doomsday" weapon to blackmail the world instead of rebuilding his crumbling relic of a country is what a scumbag dictator does. I hope Biden can arrange world wide sanctions that cripple his reign for good. We need to nip that prick in the bud and knock him down to his real size which is like a dwarf.

Bear in mind that the G7 has a rotating presidency to include every member state in turn. This year the USA holds the presidency so a proposal to include the Russian Federation would be expected to come up for discussion by the representative of the USA, Donald Trump. The G7 is not a club of friends and allies but a very small arbitrary talking shop of the world's presumed leading industrialized nations and the European Union of course. Since the topics always consider issues of global concern such as war and peace, agriculture, climate change, etc, a case can be made for including Russia or Putin as its head of government at the next meeting which will be hosted by the USA or Trump. Since the decision to expel Russia after the annexation of Crimea and the unrest in eastern Ukraine (Donbass), I suppose it follows that Russia cannot be readmitted as those disputes remain unresolved. (The bounty has no bearing.) Since the G7 agenda invariably concerns matters on which Russia is involved such as the war in Syria and developments in Libya, it has to be wondered whether it was wise to expel Russia in the first place. Without Russia, the G7 is less effective in its deliberations and proposed solutions.

hypocrisy at its best - getting gas from russia is evil, cause Trump wants to sell LNG, inviting to the G7 is "common sense"

We dont whine. We simply said no and blocked it.

Trump wants to build a hotel in Moscow after he's kicked out of office this November.

His presidency was all about enriching himself.

I'm not a "fan" of Putin, I just don't see him as a serious threat to the United States at that level. Currently were are the ONLY "big boy on the block" and our concerns need to be about China more than Russia. And in case you never got the memo--- the US/Soviet Cold War is over and WE WON. Russia has no interest in a nuclear war with us, anymore than we want one wit them. And that has been true since the mid '60 once BOTH nations basically had enough nuclear war heads to effect 'mutually assured destruction' (MAD)... maybe you read about it in a history book at some point?

The cool thing about Russian is WE KNOW that they are sneaky bastards, so we KNOW how to deal with them. No mystery in that. And besides, if you liberals are so afraid of Putin and the Russians and nuclear annihilation, then why did your Hildabeast (Hillary Clinton) when she was secretary of state during the Obummer administration, make a deal to sell Russia most of our uranium over half of our uranium (Uranian One deal)???????

As far as Germany phasing out nuclear power, that is the Govt. fulfilling the will of the people which I'm sure you are confused by also. But in a democracy fulfilling the will of the people is good governing.

LOL "the will of the people" to do WHAT???? Become energy dependent on the Russians? How dumb is that? And besides, Germany believe they could make up the difference with solar energy IN A NORTHERLY TEMPERATE CLIMATE ZONE where half the year has cloud cover...... not exactly German rocket scientist steering that boat!

Putin spending his oil money to build a "doomsday" weapon to blackmail the world instead of rebuilding his crumbling relic of a country is what a scumbag dictator does.

You watch too many movies. But if the Krauts are concerned about Putin and a "doomsday weapon" then you would think giving them more money by buying more of their natural gas would be kinda dumb even for a German.

I hope Biden can arrange world wide sanctions that cripple his reign for good. We need to nip that prick in the bud and knock him down to his real size which is like a dwarf.

Maybe Biden has another son we don't know about who can make some great "deals" with the Russians like the Bidens did with the Ukranians. You libs crack me up.

Hey, you Germans want to buy gas from Russia rather than fuel your nation with safe clean atomic energy---then more power to you. Clearly the French are not willing to take that bad deal. The French seem to still understand the importance of energy security in the post cold war era.
