'Wind Of Madness' Is Sweeping Earth, U.N. Secretary-General Says

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres laid out a sobering view of the current state of the world Tuesday, saying that "a wind of madness is sweeping the globe" as instability erupts into unpredictable and violent conflicts. The problems are made even worse, he said, by faltering economic situations and countries that disrespect U.N. Security Council resolutions "before the ink is dry."

It seems the trousers wearing apes we refer to as human beings aren't doing such a great job of getting along and making the world a better place to live.

By a great many measures, the world is better today than it ever has been.

It is very bad now. DOW Jones fell -10000 in 30 days.

We'd be better off if we bulldozed the UN into the ocean.

Coke was a lot better back then.

Glass 16 oz bottles were better. I only drink diet coke now, though, because I don't want to look like a balloon or get the diabeeetus.

I don't remember 16 oz glass bottles of Coke. I had to give up diet soda because they caused me to use antacids which lead to a kidney stone. Now when I drink Coke, it is rare, but the good stuff.

Up until about '93 or so. You can still get them if you look hard enough. Sorry about your kidney stone. That really sucks.

It used to come in 8 ounce bottles, but then, someone invented Royal Crown Cola, which tasted about the same, and put it in 10 ounce bottles. That's what started the my bottle is bigger than yours contest and resulted in 32 ouncers at the mini marts, and led to a lot of the obesity that plagues America today.

The observation in the OP pertains to the forward trajectory, not the altitude.

If you treat your fellow man as a trousers-wearing ape, that's probably how he'll behave.

What's the point of this thread? What message are you trying to convey to the betterment of humanity?

That the current forward trajectory is not improving the state of affairs.
