Russia wins WTO 'national security' case in potential boost for Trump
    Reuters ~ 24/5/2019
Russia won a dispute about "national security" at the World Trade Organization on Friday, in a ruling over a Ukrainian railway dispute that may also lend support to global automobile tariffs that could be imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump.... The WTO panel ruling, the first ever on the right to a national security exemption from the global trade rules, can be appealed. The panel also confirmed the WTO's right to review national security claims, denting U.S. claims that national security was not subject to review by the global trade body. The panel also confirmed the WTO's right to review national security claims, denting U.S. claims that national security was not subject to review, and said any such claim should be "objectively" true, relating to weapons, war, fissionable materials or an "emergency in international relations".
Ukraine went to the WTO in 2016, complaining of a huge reduction in trade with Asia and the Caucasus region after Russian President Vladimir Putin banned road and rail transport from Ukraine unless the route also went through Belarus.... Russia's Economy Ministry said that Friday's ruling had recognized Ukraine's arguments to be unfounded, and said the issue was of systemic importance for the WTO.

So now according to Reuters as reported by the Communist News Broadcasting Corporation, President Trump can impose tariffs for National Security reasons. The assumption that tariffs are between two countries regulating commerce is why most pundits fail to understand how they can be used. When you are a low cost labor provider there are several countries ready to step in and take your place when a tariff makes you no longer the lowest cost provider.
Surely to stop Trump Progressive Marxist Socialist Democrats will Judge shop throughout 9th Circuit Court trying to stop anything Trump attempts to do... The WTO ruled that they can override national governments when it comes to national security. What a surprise. Actually they do, and that is why China is now negotiating with us.

The WTO has exactly as much authority as its members grant it. We can and should ignore it if its decisions are harmful to our interests.

There's also the small and inconvenient fact that Russia and the Ukraine have been in conflict for decades, including militarily. What are the 'national security' implications where China is concerned?

Yes, just as America routinely ignores International Law, the Geneva Conventions, and refuses to recognise international courts when they rule against American 'interests'.

If there is any collusion with Russia within the halls of Congress, one can only suppose that those named above are conspiring with Russia and their agents...

No, you call them 'AKA progressive Marxists' for whatever dumb reason your brain can dream up. Enjoy your fantasies, because I guarantee you haven't bothered to read their website. If you had you would have noticed two salient things; firstly there is no mention of Marx. Secondly communism and democracy are mutually exclusive. You will also note from the website that they applaud and champion nations which have become independent of communism. If you need any more help, just ask

The deal will see more CPUSA and DSA-aligned members of Congress appointed to key congressional committees, empowering them to gain even greater influence over legislative priorities.... Of course, there is no open “Communist Party Caucus” in the U.S. Congress, but the ties to the Communist Party USA (CPUSA) are undeniable.

The CPUSA also has cross-membership with the DSA. Many of its 55,000-plus members are indoctrinated college students, but most of its leaders are hard-core Marxist revolutionaries.
