Trump revokes Obama rule on reporting drone strike deaths - BBC News

President Donald Trump has revoked a policy set by his predecessor requiring US intelligence officials to publish the number of civilians killed in drone strikes outside of war zones.

The 2016 executive order was brought in by then-President Barack Obama, who was under pressure to be more transparent. Since the 9/11 terror attack, drone strikes have been increasingly used against terror and military targets.

I think it's important everyone see what it's worth to kill some individuals. Lends gravity.

"Yeah, we had to kill four civilians. Know how many he would have killed next month? Welcome to the real world."

It would seem that in the age of the forever-wars, truth is the first casualty in both wartime and peacetime. The data will still be there, collected and reported by international NGOs like Airwars, but the American electorate will be more easily persuaded to discount it or ignore it as political propaganda.

Cheers.
