So much for so called 'surgical air strikes' and other nonsense designed to help people imagine that the US military is so clever its weapons know how to distinguish civilians from enemies.

More than 15,000 civilians were killed by explosive weapons in 2017, a jump of 42% in a year, according to a global survey seen by the Guardian.

The rise – driven by airstrikes, which killed almost double the number of civilians in 2017 compared with the previous year – coincided with US-led military operations to reclaim the Islamic State strongholds of Mosul, in Iraq, and Raqqa, in Syria.

The global survey, compiled by Action on Armed Violence, an organisation that highlights civilian harm from explosive weapons, suggests the civilian death toll from air-launched explosives rose by 82%, from 4,902 in 2016, to 8,932 in 2017.

Its called collateral damage

Collateral damage is a standard of war, that's sad I now, but it's true.

The people of Islam have been a punching bag for their neighbors for a while now and I could really care less what paths are taken at this point. So long as one does not nuke the other, I will watch with the same detachment as an episode of True Blood.

Palestine has to learn at some point.

We should just leave, get all US out, and let them do whatever they want to each other.

From the article;

The worst impacted countries were Syria, where civilian deaths increased by 55% to 8,051

I was one of the very few posters, 7 years ago now, attempting to highlight concerns as Syria began its descent into civil war in early 2011 after government security forces shot and killed protesters. At the time, the numbers fleeing the atrocities were still reasonably low. While still awful, numbers were under 10,000.

From a humanitarian standpoint, I was appalled at the numbers of casualties being discussed in the early days. Fast forward 7 years and now it's just beyond sickening. Syria’s civil war has created arguably the worst humanitarian crisis of our time. Half the country’s pre-war population, more than 11 million people, have been killed or forced to flee their homes. The sheer magnitude of the crisis is enormous and Syrians are now the largest refugee population in the world. We have witnessed the worst exodus since the Rwandan genocide 20 years ago.

Unintentional civilian deaths from airstrikes are tragic. That being said, I can understand that unfortunately mistakes will be made.

I can't accept or understand how the rest of so called civilized world/International Community sat back and watched for 6 years before intervening militarily. That's the real tragedy here.

Doing so would probably lead to Palestine trying to overtake Islam again and then get beaten back, losing most of its own territory in the process yet again. Only for Islam to try and call of the fighting and offer to give back more territory in an attempt to broker peace. Only to be attacked for several months by suicide bombers sent from Palestine like before.

Or and this is hypothetical.
Islam will finally be done with Palestine's **** and wipe them off the map. Which sucks, yes. Seeing as I have several friends and colleagues that live in places like Saudia Arabia and Kuwait, so several of us will most likely try to fast track them to the US just in case.

This US bashing is a load of crap, at least they count their civilian deaths. Where's Assad's genocide figures, has to be Hitler level after 7 years of war, Iran's ethnic cleansing of Sunni replacing them with Shiite, Russia's indiscriminate bombing of anything that vibrates never mind moves, Turkey's mini genocide in Afrin.

I hope the US remain in Syria and Iraq and use the Kurds to screw the rest of them over.
