Mexico still isn't going to pay "for that f*****g wall," former Mexican president says (video)

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/mexico...r-that-fg-wall-former-mexican-president-says/

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox "absolutely" stands by what he famously said a couple of years back-- that Mexico is not going to pay "for that f*****g wall" that President Trump frequently touts as the solution to illegal immigration. Fox's indignation about footing the bill for the wall emanates from Mr. Trump's equally frequent claims that that Mexico will pay for it.

He was asked by CBS News' Major Garrett on "The Takeout" podcast whether his sentiment about the wall still stands.

"Absolutely, yes, because it had to be expressed," Fox said, explaining that it's a feeling "when you're offended, when your dignity is pisoteada (trampled), when all Mexicans have been offended that way, but more so because it's not the answer to the problem of migration."

I don't know from where Trump pulled this 'Mexico paying for the wall' campaign promise but it's never going to happen.

Sadly, by Mexico's and the Democrats doing, we will continue to send illegals back where they came from.

but Mr. President, how did you know that Mexico would pay for the wall?

My Mommy told me ............

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox has zero say about how the wall will be paid for!
Fox has been on a rant since Trump was elected. No one I knows gives a whit what he thinks will
be done regarding the wall.

Construction begins on San Diego border wall with ‘anti-climbing plate’

Construction on a section of President Trump's planned wall along the U.S.-Mexico border began Friday in San Diego, according to local media.

Local news affiliate Fox 8 reported that a section of border wall that features an "anti-climbing plate" will replace about 14 miles of improvised border fencing created from scrap metal.

The section of the wall will begin about a half-mile from the Pacific Ocean, Fox reports, and will stand between 18-30 feet tall.

Rodney Scott, chief of Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the San Diego area, told Fox 8 that the construction will improve public safety in the area.

I have an old friend who lives near the Mexico-U.S. border in southwestern Texas. He told me that there are big gaps in the existing wall as well as guard towers on the Mexican side. The guys in the towers have walkie talkie radios & are there to alert the human smugglers as to when the Border Patrol/ICE are not around so that they can drive in trucks full of illegals.

Know how many entered illegally? Very, very few. Most outstayed their legal visa's.
But go ahead, build that wall. Should be a rich source of humour, watching it creep at a snail's pace over the terrain.

Unfortunately, this will go on until US residents start getting kidnapped on the US side of the border and held for ransom. Even that might not be enough for the open borders crowd.

The really frustrating thing is that law-abiding Mexicans don't attempt to come to the US illegally, it's the lawless ones that do.

Nuts.

Right. When all else fails blame the Dems. Or Obama. Or Hillary. You right wingers seem to come off an assembly line because you all sound the same.

Re: Mexico still isn't going to pay "for that f*****g wall," former Mexican president says (video)

Actually, it could be done whether Mexico wishes or not.

Simply put a tax on US dollars sent to Mexico. I doubt this will happen, but it could be done. Whether this could pay for the wall or not I'm not entirely sure, but I suspect it could... and would do serious damage to the Mexican economy in the process.

Note that I'm not saying this as a pro-wall statement or an anti-wall statement, just an informative statement.

Fine with me. I'm just saying that building a wall is just pouring money into a deep hole. Useless and a waste.

Whatever. Mexico will never pay one red peso for that wall. They've told us for years, with or without Fox.

I always get a chuckle out of the whole wall idea. It would be nice if the administration would also provide the costs of maintaining the wall too, so everyone can get a proper sense of what a folly this proposal is.
