Global loss of daylight can be added to the list of the world's serious problems. People don't take it seriously but if things keep going this way we won't ever have sunshine and natural light again. Solar power will be crippled, forcing recourse to fossil fuels and worsening the greenhouse effect and AGW.

This little-noticed but highly dangerous problem has been developing for at least five months or so, probably longer. I have confirmed this by emails to friends in Canada, Poland and the UK.

Just as an example, where I live, near New York City, we have dropped from over 15 hours of daylight to just over 9 hours in recent months. An effort was made back in early November to stop the trend. This has worked for the mornings, temporarily but been counterproductive at night.

At the very least the U.N. must get involved. We cannot go on destroying the earth and not caring.

It could get far worse causing the strange reverse seasons effect now plaguing the southern hemisphere.

Somebody tell Trump. This surely sounds right up his alley. I called the local juju shyster and he said that starting today he would adjust the daylight about 2 minutes each day longer, but he'd guarantee nothing past June 20, 2018. My axis has been tilted and confused because the winter in Brazil puts the Earth far away from the Sun, but and the winter here closer to the Sun. Who'd a thunk it that the Equator is an average and might be 23 latitude degrees wide? The juju meister works with two sticks in the ground. One about a foot long and the other about five feet long and counts the days and deals with the shadows of the taller stick. The man's wizardy can tell you exactly when to plant the corn or whatever, but he ain't got a clue where lies the good ***** and the Jack Daniels. The two sticks seems a mite techie to me and I am suspicious that the shadows don't fall on the same spot exactly one year apart, but the juju gets paid anyway. I'm gonna go check with my buddy, the astrophysicist who has real computers, 5 syllable words, and and has been known to baffle himself trying to figure out how to make his water hard at 32 degrees, and he spouts heavy BS. The juju guy a/k/a Justin O. Peewillie ain't even got a degree, unless it is athlete's foot at an advanced degree. Two sticks and the Northerly end of the shadow cast by the long stick will fall on exactly the same spot 365 days later and all you have to do is drive the short stick into the end of the shadow on the first of the 365 days. This guy needs a computer. That common sense and data free logic just can't compete, eh? Two sticks, the juju, did say he had to add an extra day every four years to compensate for time stretch caused by the Moon's menstrual cycles. Who'd a thunk it? Two sticks versus computers and advanced mathematics and astrophysical analysis. No wonder it's dark in here, eh?

Things seem bright and sunny in Buenos Aires, Sydney and Pretoria.

Exactly, no white Christmas for those folks anymore - concrete proof of climate change.

I say wait 'til about June 21, 2018 & things will be much brighter ............... oh, sorry, I forgot about Trump's April, 2018 nuclear war ............... all bets are off .............. there will be nuclear winter .......

I believe they solved that problem earlier today. You should begin seeing an increase in daylight hours beginning tomorrow. :)

You must be a Republican or a climate skeptic. (I won't use climate denier because of the Holocaust implications).
