I just don't see why this wouldn't work.

I support opening of the borders of the United States; in other words, anyone can become a legal resident as soon as they arrive just by registering with the immigration agency.
The United States is a vast country, there is so much land that is almost uninhabited. We have the 12th lowest real population density of any country, so feeding immigrants wouldn't be a problem. Most immigrants either do menial jobs that almost no native-born US citizens will do, such as working in meat packing plants or in pesticide-soaked fields for miniscule wages, or have skills that are in such high demand that opening the borders wouldn't cause a significant problem for native-born citizens, such as computer science and medical jobs.

Finally, the United States, and other colonial powers like the UK, France and Japan, have an ethical responsibility to try to make up for the injustices they have done to developing nations. In addition to committing genocide against the indigenous peoples of this land, in this hemisphere alone the United States: overthrew a social democratic government in Guatemala because it was having success with land reform; subjected the Sandanista government in Nicaragua to right-wing Contra rebels; overthrew via the CIA the democratically-elected Salvador Allende in a coup in Chile because of his democratic socialist polices; and son on and so forth. Let us also not forget the damage done in Africa, not just with the Slave Holocaust, but also with the overthrowing of leaders such as Patrice Lamumba in favour of criminal thugs such as Mobutu Sese Seko.

Therefore, I think open borders should stop being just a snarl word and be taken seriously as a mainstream immigration policy position.

Have you ever heard of the coronavirus virus, Covid-19? Their idiot president (cartel leader) is telling everyone in the country to spread the coronavirus as fast as possible and not to adhere to any practical advice given by medical doctors. And you want them to come to our country unchecked? You sound ridiculous. Even the globalist, socialist EU is shutting down their borders, tear gassing, and water cannoning peaceful refugees and building walls to keep others out now. The world has learned the problems with opening borders to crazy people. Which by the way, you can't even find a main stream media outlet that will even talk about it now because they too recognize how crazy it was.

There are many reasons to maintain international borders and the coronavirus is the current example... and your political rant does not help your argument.

Looks like some groups in Mexico also want a better controlled border.

They want to put a stop of people coming to Mexico from America !!

Can you imagine ?? They don't want foreigners bringing in disease !!

How can this BE ??? Borders are important ! Even to Mexico !!

..
a group known as "Sonorans for Health and Life" shut down a U.S. border crossing in Arizona over concerns that Americans are crossing into Mexico, bringing the highly contagious COVID-19 with them.

A spokesman for the group told the BBC they were blocking traffic to draw attention to a lack of virus testing on those coming south, including American tourists and illegals being deported.

I disagree. We do need to reform our immigration laws and make them more immigrant friendly, that said...we do not need open borders, it is a dangerous prospect...

are they now? So why in a country of 130 million are there only 8000 infections? while in the US we have over 800,000

If you have no borders with individuals going to and fro, how do you have a country?

And what would happen to the exchange rate?
Would it even still exist?

You don't have a freaking clue as to how many infected people there really are in Mexico, because Mexico doesn't have a clue either.

When people like yourself remove the front doors to your home will I listen to your over the top liberal nonsence.

You actually think, in a country run by cartels and incompetence.... that they actually know, or are reporting accurately, the number of infections and deaths?

You can not be that naive.

reporting numbers on a virus has zero to do with cartels. How much do you know about AMLO?
Let me know when a US citizen can walk into any LABCORP and get a Covid 19 test because they want one. That is where they have the upper hand on the US. Hell, you cannot get a COVID 19 test in the US at a hospital even if you beg for it or offer to pay cash up front...you have to be admitted to the hospital and at a tier 1 level.

Non-sequitur post. Your ability to walk in for the test has ZERO to do with the numbers being REPORTED accurately...

And it's 14,000+ reported.

oh, but it has everything to do with it, when in Mexico, a 2nd world country, you can get a test for Covid 19 but in the US you cannot.

Mexico has fallen behind in their testing and the current numbers are 13,000 plus.

There are people in Mexico who disrespect our borders to the point at which they consider the USA not to be a country, but a “region” for labor to migrate like ducks with some sort of universal citizenship without giving a whit about the citizens of the USA.

We only use cheap agricultural labor so we can have a cheap salad. These indentured souls simply serve to create below market value food. IOW, the cost of that salad should be based on using American labor. If you can’t afford it, don’t buy it and the price will eventually fall into line.

That “price” = “cost to market” using legal America un subsidized labor.

I dare anybody that thinks that Mexico is a safer and better run country than the United States to move there.

Put you body where your mouth is.

Upgrade and re-open Ellis Island! All foreign nationals should be known to the general Government and federally identified for civil purposes. We should have no illegal problem or an illegal underclasss.

where did I say they were better run or safer? Lie much? I said that they had a better handle on testing than we do....anyone can get a test there by walking into a lab and requesting one....we however have to be on our death bed to get one.

I argued it was a worse place to live and you keep defending it with this stupid Red Herring. One can only assume that you are trying to argue that Mexico is a better, safer place to live... since those are the arguments that you are arguing against. Lie? No... just a lot smarter. Clear as day in our posts.

I explained clearly why one would make that assumption... it is default because of what you are arguing against... not what you said.
