Of course they are. A single American mom just doesn't warrant the same concern from you as a Honduran immigrant does.

Wall would do that. Stories of Honduran families camped out next to a 20 ft wall wondering what to do will get back to the homeland and deter additional attempts.

No, if an American woman is taken to prison her children are not put into a for profit detention center. That's why we have foster care programs if there is no family member able to step up. Try again.

A wall will only have them walk a little more to the coyote who dug a hole for them.

Knowing they have work and benefits on the other side of said wall with a much increased standard of living, nothing will stop them from trying to get over/under that wall.

Posted just so the voters of this great nation don't forget what it government has been doing. This is a human rights abuse, pure and simple, and needs to be acknowledged for what it is and the damage being done mitigated in any way possible.

Reuniting these families should be priority #1, don't you agree?
Yes, in the countries from which they came.

Many of the illegal children are placed in foster care. Just not enough for all of them.

We can fill in the hole as soon as they dig it. Supposedly some kind of sensors that detect the digging.

This thread is about removing children from their parents as a way of discouraging asylum seekers. The Trump sycophants seem to think that's OK, because it was a policy initiated by Trump. They also seem to think that Trump was telling the truth when he said the policy was that of Obama, and that he ended it.

How anyone can continue to believe anything Trump says is a mystery.
My understanding is they are continuing a policy of a prior administration on a larger scale. It may be distasteful but I do not see it as something that can hung around his neck. The fundamental problem right now is that the laws are not settled since there have been so many exceptions and priorities and back and forth with many people expecting something favorable to be done for them. Congress needs to take up the issue. Tighten or loosen the standards, codify what is or is not permissible around the issues and set it in stone so there is no expectation that the law will change anytime soon.
