President Trump promised the country a wall but instead delivered the biggest amnesty since 1986. Amnesty in this case doesn’t mean citizenship, it means de facto legal status by creating a new protected class of illegal aliens who are immune to detention, prosecution, and deportation. The law doesn’t stop there. Here are the worst of the immigration provisions of the spending bill passed last week:

Provides for a massive, open-ended amnesty that encourages trafficking in children.
Expands “catch and release,” wherein Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents catch illegal aliens and then very quickly releases them into the interior of the country, mostly never to be heard from again, except when they apply for amnesty or are arrested for other crimes.
Slashes funding to ICE for beds for detainees from 49,060 to 40,520.
Gives veto power over wall construction to deep blue, anti-border enforcement towns. Got that? The scant 55 miles of wall approved for the Rio Grande Valley in Texas, can be vetoed unilaterally by local authorities.
The spending bill President Trump signed Friday gave the open borders crowd much of what it wants. But surely the worst—practically, politically, and morally—is Section 224(a), which provides that “None of the funds provided by this Act or any other Act . . . may be used by the Secretary of Homeland Security to place in detention, remove, refer for a decision whether to initiate removal proceedings, or initiate removal proceedings against a sponsor, potential sponsor, or member of a household of a sponsor or potential sponsor of an unaccompanied alien child . . .”

This is the provision that amounts to an amnesty.

Trump Promised a Wall and Delivered an Amnesty – American Greatness

Interestingly enough, the bill Trump signed allocated over $9 billion to fund the security of foreign countries , while allowing for only $1.3 billion for fencing and barriers at the US border.

Rather than celebrating their victory in getting Trump to sign exactly the bill they'd wanted, Democratic leadership bemoaned the fact that Trump is still talking about a border wall.

Trump promised to all you Trump followers that Americans would not pay for Trump's Wall. He promised that Mexico would pay for it. There is then NO VICTORY for Trump or members of his cult. Trump screwed the pooch. He didn't deliver. His negotiating skills suck like a bucket of ticks. Trump failed yet again.

If Trump cultists and QAnon conspiratists insist on calling it a victory then call it a Pyrrhic victory because that is what it is.

That ‘amnesty’ claim is based on section 224 of the budget -- which appears, on first glance, to block the deportation of many people who are illegally in the U.S.

That’s because it states that no funds may be used to detain or deport any "sponsor" or "potential sponsor" of an "unaccompanied alien child." It adds that even any "member of a household" of a "potential sponsor" is now immune from deportation.

But a DHS official told Fox News that terms like "potential sponsor" have precise meanings in Department of Homeland Security regulations -- meanings that severely limit the number of people the budget keeps safe from deportation.

For example, to be a "potential sponsor" according to the DHS regulations, one must file significant paperwork -- such as showing ID (U.S. or foreign) and proof of residency. The adult applying must also submit documents about the child.

Further, because the bill only applies to kids who are unaccompanied, it does not provide protection for those bringing kids into the US.

That would significantly limit the number of people to whom the no-deportation provision applies.

The section was added to ensure that people coming to pick up kids in custody did not find themselves deported for showing up to pick up the kid.

He told you why he wanted "wall" and it was because of the election.

This is of course no victory at all for Trump's base, rather it's the fruition of the Trojan horse storming the executive branch which Trump dragged in with him upon inauguration. That Trojan horse is named Jared Kushner, and he is to Donald Trump what Dick Cheney was to Bush; the de facto President.

We haven't touched upon the possibility of the wall being a carrot that Trump disingenuously dangles in front of his crowds in order to drum up support, yet has no intention of making a reality.

Trump lied to the Rubes. Being rubes, they believed him.

Not my problem that incredibly ignorant and stupid people voted for Trump.

The "wall" is a farce, just another shiny object to dangle in front of the angry dupes.

Don't you find it odd that liberal journos and those who want to believe Trump is not selling out his base are now holding hands over 224(a)?

Blindly trusting any journalist today, without researching them, is a bad idea. Maxim Lott (Fox News) also works for a media company owned by the Koch bros, who are supporters of illegal immigration.

"Many, if not most, UACs are not truly "UACs" under the statutory definition above, because they have parents or legal guardians in the United States and have themselves entered the United States illegally with the assistance, if not at the insistence, of that parent or legal guardian using a smuggler. Section 224 eliminates any danger for those parents and legal guardians to do so. In fact, it makes the United States government a co-conspirator in the criminal scheme between the smuggler and the parent/guardian.

In FY 2014, 58 percent of UACs who were discharged by HHS were sent to parents or other legal guardians. By definition, therefore, those alien minors were not UACs at all. This is a fact that has largely been disregarded by all involved. "

As with most things our government deals with, we're being told the nice, censored version of what is happening.

Nearly 60% of UAC's are mislabeled as such in the first place.

"Section 224 plainly intended to subvert the information-sharing between HHS and DHS contained in the April 13, 2018, agreement referenced in the excerpt from the Brennan Center, above."

The real intent here is to break up DHS's lines of communication with HHS, which is why some view this provision as a possible giveaway to traffickers.

So you voted for Trump in order to receive

- tax cuts which mainly benefitted the wealthy
- prison reform to let offenders out early
- Americans financing the exportation of American feminism to the developing world
- the removal of the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem
- $9 billion to improve the national security of other countries
- no wall
- a pledge to fight homophobia and antisemitism on a global level

????
Otherwise, you have to ask where this garbage came from, as it wasn't mentioned by Trump during his 'America First' campaign of 2016.

I'll assume you're not a rube, and voted for Obama because you really wanted the banking industry to pocket $30 trillion as a reward for wrecking the global economy. Hope and Change, remember beef?

Yep...those stupid and ignorant people had to vote for Trump because the democrats decided to throw an even worse candidate against him....that has to be the most unbelievable aspect of the 2016 election. Which pile of excrement to vote for?

Maybe both parties can learn from their mistakes, no?

Fat freaking chance......in another 18 months or so, we will get to see round two of partisan politics at its finest....

Get your nose plugs ready.....this one is going to stink worse than the last one

My thoughts; if current trends hold, how will the DNC screw Bernie this time? Kamala seems to be their pick, from what I gather. Bernie has already raised twice the amount she has though.
