I am very familiar with the story.
And if you were a fourteen year old kid witnessing that kind of horror, and you thought you could get away with masking your identity, you'd do it in a heartbeat, as many who were able to, DID. The line you attempt to draw between a fourteen year old kid and the Third Reich is thinner than a human hair.

African Americans and native American indians, particularly mixed breed, who could pass as white did it all the time during the slavery era in this country, and they participated in activities that would seem remarkably similar. I guess that makes them collaborators?
Israeli Arabs who have been able to pass as Jewish have snuck across borders with the help of Israeli jews, often for the purpose of intermarriage.

Some native American tribes gleefully volunteered to support expeditions against other tribes, because their hatred and rivalry with those tribes was that great. Do I feel particularly guilty and weepy about this....NO. You however are free to cry your eyes out over any and all wrongdoing, and misperceived wrongdoing that's occurred in America. Including when black people owned black slaves in the south. Hell, the only legal slave owner alive today is R. Kelly. Google him. He didn't sing for the Beach Boys.

LOL, I grew up in Monkey Co. as well (Rockville). I lived all around that area (DC/MD/VA, even PA) for many years. There were lots of employment opportunities. Last place I lived in MD was North Potomac.

I felt compelled to do a little more research, seeing as this was a little fourteen year-old kid growing up in occupied Hungary.

1. The family was indeed of Jewish roots, but they were non-observant, like about HALF the Jewish people who currently live IN ISRAEL TODAY.


2. It was Soros' FATHER, who was an ADULT, who purchased documents that indicated that they were Christians, thereby allowing them to survive the war. This is no different than undocumented hispanic immigrants in the USA who purchase black market Social Security numbers today. The father went to the underground black market and did what he could to SAVE HIS FAMILY.

3. His so called "protector" that you described, had a Jewish wife IN HIDING, much like the family of Anne Frank, who weren't quite as lucky.
I suppose you probably think the family of Otto Frank were also "collaborators", because they didn't run out into the street and present themselves to the SS, "Hello there, we're Jews!"

In the end, it's not so much that I feel compelled to defend Soros, he's just another hedge fund owner like all the rest, it's that I feel compelled to let the rest of the members of this forum see the lengths to which you will go in order to paint YOUR OWN ANTISEMITISM and bigotry as "patriotic".
If it wasn't for people like Henry Ford or Charles Lindbergh, you might actually have a shot at some real fame.

I have a hunch that you'll blame liberals in general for the actions of Soros however.

The post is senseless so I will address the headline..

It amuses me that Americans, especially the Bible thumping, gun totin' right that they hail the United States constitution as the 'greatest document ever written' and at every turn, with it tucked neatly under the arm, demand that other countries around the world have it, that people have "rights".

Yet, at home, they only want people born there to benefit from it.

After all these years it has become apparent that Americans have no more claim to rights and freedoms than anywhere else, in fact worse as the right constantly bitches about any rights to immigrants; and please, don't try to tell me crime is worse in liberal areas. We buried that ****ed up lie a long time ago.

The US right needs to look in the mirror

I do know who Barry Richards was. He was a DJ at a small indie radio station. Can't remember the call letters (maybe WHMC or something) but I did listen to it as a kid.

I remember WINX as well. Do you remember that country station that was in Wheaton? it was close to 1600 on the dial and it would overwhelm the WINX signal if you got close to Wheaton.

Barry started out at WINX 1600, he got fired for yelling, "Man, the Supremes make me cream in mah jeans!"
WHMC was the station he went to immediately afterward.

Yes, WDON was originally a rock station in Wheaton which switched to the country format, and of course due to its very short tower, if you were in sight of Wheaton Plaza, not only would it blank out everything within 100 kHz of it on the dial, it would also show up on devices which weren't even radio receivers. A friend of mine's father was an electronics engineer who got paid to install RF rejection equipment on the PA gear at Wheaton Plaza to prevent it from acting like a gigantic radio and blasting the unwanted WDON signal all over the shopping center.
He was also a ham radio guy and I learned a lot about fixing RFI problems from him with my own 1kW Collins gear!

WINX was only a 1kW daytime transmitter and 500 watts at night. Your hair dryer has more power than the WINX transmitter.
I think WDON 1540 was a 5000 watt station.
