Key facts about ?Dreamers? enrolled in DACA | Pew Research Center

I was going to post this under Bias, but figured I would just post here.

Most of the DACA recipients are adults (70% over the age of 21, less than 1% under 16), when you hear about DACA recipients Democrats and the MSM typically refer to them as kids in order to drive up sympathy from the average citizen. I'm so sick of the level of dishonesty from our politicians when trying to push legislation. (Both Republicans and Democrats)

The Fact being that they All came here as Kids. So either one would have to be a complete idiot to not know this, or a Liar to trying and push this Lie as Truth, I am sure the readers can determine which applies.

Seems like there are Alternate facts!

Its worse than that.

300,000 DACA persons
X 2 parents = Add 600,000
X 2 siblings = Add 600,000

Add chain migration = hundreds of aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Thus the immigrants are basically in charge of who comes in.

The democrats want to preserve chain migration to fill the chute for the day democrats take over and grant amnesty to upwards of 30 million illegal aliens who have flowed in looking for any work at any wage, and in the meantime work cash, draw welfare, Medicaid, and education on your dime.

Do they, funny I do not see them saying the budget will not pass over chain migration, must be in your imagination. Never happen, so there is that.

Here - I'll give you an example of "chain migration". My wife came here back in '81. She finally got her citizenship, and petitioned her two brothers (which btw was no longer allowed even in the Obama administration), and it took twenty-five years for them to arrive here. They both have full-time jobs, and of their four children (combined) who are here, one's an E-5 in the Navy, one's in an Ivy-League university (and about to graduate with a degree in immunology), one's in college, and one's about to enter college.

Yeah, them immigrants are all bad, terrrrrrrrrrrible people who are just a grinding burden upon the taxpayers, I guess - we know that because YOU say so, never mind what I see with my own eyes....

And those numbers, while possible, would take about 40 years and extremely unlikely odds to accomplish. It takes about 9 years for a parent. It takes about 15 years for a sibling. It just gets longer form there. You are obviously bad at math or you didn't take the time to check how the system actually works.

Such a simple solution for this whole issue. If you were brought here illegally as a minor and have lived here for at least 7 years as a minor, when you turn 18, you go the head of the line to apply for legal status. As long as you had no juvenile convictions, you graduated high school or are on the path to graduation and have a proven track record of being a positive member of your community, you get to jump the line. Sorry, mom and dad, but you still need to go home.

If DACA is killed, the U.S. economy might lose as much as $433 Bn in ten years.

https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/09/if-daca-killed-the-us-economy-can-lose-433-billion.html

Let them go to other western countries then and let them reap the economic boom of criminals residing in a foreign nation illegally.

All DACA recipients should be punished, deported, and not allowed re-entry until fines are paid for an assessment of tax payer benefits received, they have served punishments for violating our immigration laws, and they can prove to be of economic and tax benefit to the US.

I would guess that the siblings of dreamers are in most cases either dreamers thems4lives or citizens

The rules require that those qualified entered before June 2007. So the youngest possible person eligible would be about 12, and eligible people cannot apply before age 15. And there is no rush for a 15 year old to apply because the big draw to the program is they qualify recipients for work permits, and 15 year olds must be in school full time (it's a requirement of the program), so less need for work permits than adults who have graduated from HS or college.

In other words, the structure of the program and eligibility rules, which apparently were unknown to you (no surprise there) explain the ages you see and the small % under age 16. And the typical "dreamer" I've seen in the news is a young person, but not a child - a young adult, frequently kids in school, so your "typically refer to them as kids" is from what I've seen a false stereotype of how they're portrayed.

So I suspect your biggest problem is your ignorance of the program, not dishonesty by politicians or the "media."

So one turns into three turns into seven.

I think that's the point.

Or the fact that to people of my generation, which is most of those talking, any one under about 35 is a kid.

Makes sense, f'ing kids being brought here by parents - jail is too good for such vermin.

This is tough, but it does what we want to do. Mom/Dad screwed up. The kid didn't. The kid wants to stay and we want the kid to stay. Do this and then make the appropriate applications for Mom and Dad to get in line.

Mitch McConnell playing Russian Roulette with the health of 9 million kids, I just don't even know how anyone, even the most clueless and hidebound conservative, can think that this would make Republicans look good.
Even if they blame Democrats and accuse them of having an unhealthy obsession with illegal immigrants, almost 70 percent of Americans overall think they deserve a path to citizenship and a break.
How do they paper over that?

One example of legal Immigration. does not set the standard to ignore federal law as it applies to illegal immigration.

The thing is that R's don't want them to vote. The deal was that their parents could stay but not be given citizenship, meaning they can't vote. The R's are afraid of brown people.

"Brown people" vote in massive disproportion for the left and larger government.

So, if your goal is to shrink the size of the United States government and social programs, you are fundamentally opposed to third world migration. Unfortunately, demographics matter a **** ton in any democratic system.

Although I would agree the neocons are not about "small government" whatsoever, they at least pretend to parrot the talking points to the ignorant masses. Entire system needs some fixing if you ask me.
