I may be off a few years but if you really look at it the only people who would classify as indigenous are the American (north or south) Indians. they have been here for at least 5000 years.

Most of us have only been here about 150 or so and a few of us as many as 300. That may not qualify.

For one I am proud of being the descendant of German and Czech immigrants and we had enough sense at least on the German side to keep our heritage alive. I can speak the language of my ancestors, I know the town they came from and due to oral history what it looked like decades before I stepped foot in it. I also know the culture and history.

Most Americans can't even tell you who their grandparents were.

The Americans who fought in WWII were the children and grandchildren of immigrants and it was their parents and grandparents who instilled in them the mentality to win that war. The same could be true of the Civil War but on a smaller scale.

If you believe that the US should stand alone in the world look how that has worked for Cuba and China and other like minded countries.

the more you cut yourself off the less freedom you have and the less your standard of living is.

For example; During the Buy America First Binge , CBS ran a piece about "AMERICAN" cars. As it turned out only about 15% was made here.

Here are some things to think about (maybe you care maybe not)

Do you like fruits and vegetables anytime of the year. Isolationism will stop that
Do you like reasonably priced cars or appliances. Isolation will stop that
Do you like exotic cruises or going to Mexico or Canada Isolation will stop that
Do you like the newest or latest techno toys Isolation will stop that

WHY because the more the US turns inward the less other countries will want to deal with us. And if we beat our chests about how great we are it will get worse.

Egypt fell because of its attitude and bravado so did Rome, England, Spain. All you have to do is look how they treated other peoples and nations.

A lot of people will disagree with this but the majority of them have never been outside this country unless it was in the military or on a tour bus And neither of them count.

Do you know why Japan and Germany are so successful in business? they never forgot the lessons they learned from their American occupiers who were teaching them how the better companies in this country worked. We have

None of this mentions anything about how the USA might potentially suffer from receiving less middle Eastern & African immigrants, and illegal immigrants from Latin America, which happens to be what we're currently addressing rationally.

So tell me; how would the USA suffer from receiving less migrants from the ME, Africa, and deporting illegals who've committed crimes?

If you were born in the US, or to parents that are US citizens, then you are not an immigrant. Pretty simple, actually.

Next year will be 400 for my family, does that count?

Under the laws of the US, an immigrant is someone who comes legally to live permanently in the USA.

Wait, what's that "legally" word you're using? Is that really part of the equation? That must be something that didn't get added in until Trump took office.

Pretty sure no one here is 150 - 300 years old. I'm native to America - not an immigrant - lived in America all of my 36 years.

I'm betting very few Americans have any problem with immigrants. Me? I recognize immigrants as very strong individuals who have much to contribute to our gene pool, our work force and our countrynas a whole. I just want them to come legally. We are the melting pot. Not the garbage dump.

You seem to be falling for the left's and the media's lie that republicans are (primarily) against immigration... when republicans are (primarily) against only illegal immigration.

I would guess that your German and Czech ancestors didn't sneak across the ocean and into the country and almost certainly made a stop at ellis island. If I am wrong and they actually did sneak in... then your (probably dead) ancestors should be deported too.

Stole the words out of my keyboard.

It wasn't meant to you again missed the entire point of the post

WOW did you miss the point. Gosh

I don't understand why there would be any confusion. My parents entered through Ellis Island; they are immigrants. I was born on US soil; I am not an immigrant

It only takes two seconds to figure out the difference, not 300 years.

Good points so I take it you oppose the ban since there is an extensive vetting process for immigrants from the Middle East and like I told you before only a terrorist buffoon would come to the US from a Middle Eastern country directly. 1993/2001. The ban is not only unconstitutional (due process and the 14 but stupid

Apparently, everyone missed your point. Why not just say what your point is. It seems to be missing from your OP.

WOW I mean really WOW

NONE of you got the point of this post and probably never will. You are so hell bent on protecting Duck's ass and ignoring the realities of how this country came to be in order to do it.

What is this extensive vetting process you mentioned. Other than seeing plenty of claims that it exist, I haven't seen any evidence that it is real. ISIS is in control of the passport office in Syria. Is ISIS doing the extensive vetting?

Your point was that we are our ancestors and I'm saying we aren't.

Please read the post below yours to see what I was talking about. A perfect example of circular logic to evade the point.

Well I was hoping there were some people who would see the point without having to be led by the hand like a child. So I will see who gets its first.

You're so cute.

The temporary travel ban, in my opinion, is not unconstitutional if it is written correctly; I.e., no exceptions for any religion, visa and green cards exempted, and probably a few other things. He may write a new one. We'll see. Those who wish to immigrate to the United States HAVE no constitutional rights.

I quoted one sentence out of your OP which stated that we are our ancestors (which was your point in that sentence). We aren't. I didn't come to America 300 years ago and neither did you or anyone else alive today. If you were born in America, you aren't an immigrant to America.

I didn't even read the rest of your OP because I couldn't get past the stupid "we're all immigrants" crap.

Well I was hoping there were some people who would see the point without having to be led by the hand like a child. So I will see who gets its first.

Maybe if your post was to the point, there wouldn't need to be any hand holding. So far, everyone has needed their hand held. Could it be that when everyone is wrong but you, you have things backwards?

If you want open borders and no immigration laws you should stop nibbling around the edges and just say so
