The (Kievian Rus´) state finally disintegrated under the pressure of the Mongol invasion of Rus', fragmenting it into successor principalities who paid tribute to the Golden Horde (the so-called Tatar Yoke). In the late 15th century, the Muscovite Grand Dukes began taking over former Kievan territories and proclaimed themselves the sole legal successors of the Kievan principality according to the protocols of the medieval theory of translatio imperii.

Muscovy + Rus principalities = RUSSIA

And RUSSIANS speak RUSSIAN and not MONGOLIAN.

RUSSIAN laws have evolved and changed many times since the Mongols.

None of the qualities you claim makes Russia “Asian” are exclusive to Asia. In fact, all have been seen across Europe many times in the past...and even today.

More Litwin claims that do not jibe with history.

Batu Khan was not the founder of "Muscovy Statehood". He was the Mongol who conquered the Kievan Rus'. Muscovy wasn't but a trade city when that happened. And Batu Khan burned that down. Muscovy as a Duchy stated 30 years after Batu Khans' death.

There never was a Muscovite Duma.

The first formally constituted duma was the State Duma introduced into the Russian Empire by Tsar Nicholas II in 1905 after the revolt of people.

That would be a RUSSIAN Duma.
