For some people it's like what goes on in Europe, for others it's like what Lenin was thinking of. For still others it resembles one of my favorite lines from John Steinbeck. If I remember correctly a California grower was reacting to a request for a raise from workers with red-baiting, saying something like, "A communist (insert socialist here) is any son of a bitch who asks for 30 cents and hour when I am paying 25."

To the extent it preserved private insurance and didn't go the Medicare for all route it was closer to capitalism than, say... Medicare. I am no fan, but there is a reason it didn't have a public option, that, is, the power of capitalism. To paraphrase Marc Anthony, if the ACA was not capitalist, "socialism should be made of sterner stuff." [cf his funeral oration on Caesar's ambition, "ambition should be made of sterner stuff." I knew memorizing all those lines in high school 50 years ago would eventually come
in handy. :)]

Admit they are dead. Saw the movies. So now then, explain how their ideology leads (or led) to Obamacare. When the Soviet Union collapsed the Europeans didn't abolish government health care. I don't get your characterization of government health care as either fascism or communism.
