I suspect that the real figure is higher than that even.

Historians are generally not that number focused and live sheltered lives. The concept of mass clearance by death of whole regions is not easy to comprehend.

Wait...what? Isn't it the kiss of death for a historian to not dutifully recite, "6 million deaths occurred from the holocaust©"? We still don't know how many died from the carpet bombing of Dresden, but we know emphatically that "6 million©" were killed by the holocaust.

Ah yes, the “muh Dresden” shtick. Yawn.

The only reason Dresden ever became an issue in the first place was because it was on the convenient side of the Iron Curtainvfir the East German regime to use as propaganda. Not only was it not the heaviest hit city in Germany—-more lives were lost in Hamburg, for instance—-but compared to the firestorms most Japanese cities turned into Dresden’s impact certainly falls flat of what some claim.


But don’t let facts stop you from shrieking about the Holocaust :roll:
 
Each were responsible for the death of tens and tens of millions. Each were surrounded by people who aided. The existence of each is a permanent stain on homo sapien.

What's the point of trying to make a contest out of it? Seems pointlessly macabre.

A Brief History

On June 11, 1937, Soviet dictator Joseph Stalin had 8 of his top army generals executed as part of The Great Purge. From 1934 to 1940 Stalin had vast numbers of government, party, and army officials murdered to satisfy his paranoid delusions that everyone was out to get him. 10. The Great Purge, 1934-1940.



As stated above, Stalin was a paranoid that ruthlessly clung to power. In order to upset any budding power bases or alliances that might work against him, he went on a spree of executing, imprisoning, and firing many officials at many levels, especially the highest levels. With the military, it is shocking to see the facts: Officers removed from office one way or another: 3 of 5 Marshalls, 8 of 9 Admirals, 13 of 15 Army Commanders, 50 of 57 Corps Commanders, 16 of 16 Army Commissars, and 25 of 28 Corps Commissars. His stripping of the military leadership cost the Soviets dearly when they tried to invade Finland and when Germany invaded the Soviet Union.

9. Purge of Intelligentsia, 1920-1940.

Pianist Khadija Gayibova, executed in 1938, was one of among at least 2000 of the best and brightest minds in the Soviet Union who were sent to prisons where at least 1500 of them died. Writers, poets, philosophers and playwrights were jailed for producing anything other than pure propaganda, astronomers were jailed for studying sun spots, and weathermen were jailed for failing to make accurate predictions! Scientists and engineers that failed to solve problems according to Stalin’s schedule were also purged, especially during the war.

8. Wife’s Suicide/Murder, 1932.

Stalin was a bad father and a bad husband. One of his sons shot himself and lived, causing Stalin to complain, “He can’t even shoot.” When that son was captured by the Germans, Stalin refused a trade for a German general and his son died. At a dinner in 1932 where Stalin and his wife argued, Stalin was seen flicking cigarettes at her (quite classy) and later that night she either committed suicide or was murdered by Stalin. (Hitler’s wife committed suicide with him and Hitler’s previous lovers also committed suicide. What a coincidence!)

7. Self-Serving Relations with China, 1940-1953.

Stalin at first betrayed his fellow communists in China by supporting Chiang Kai Shek instead of Mao tse Tung and the communists, because he believed that Chiang had a better chance of keeping the Japanese from invading Siberia, and he ignored the mass murder of communists by Chiang. Stalin further hurt the Chinese communists by supporting the Turkic Muslims in their quest for an independent state. By 1950, when it was prudent to do so, Stalin became best buddies with China and now had a major ally in the Cold War. In a similar manner, Stalin at first supported the creation of Israel and then later withdrew his support. For the most part, Stalin was another anti-Semite at heart.

"The FBI" you refer to has been proven to have both good people and bad on the job. How do you feel about racist cops? Are cops bad and the FBI good? No, some are bad and some are good in every organization.

Look at this thread Tiger. SenorXM denies the established death toll of Chinese people from WW2, while refusing to say why he objects to it. Isn't this 'denial'? Shouldn't we all gang up on him till he relinquishes?

Even for a Trump cultist the amount of hysterical flailing is truly astounding. FBI are “cops”; they are both groups of law enforcement personnel; albeit with different jurisdictions. You trying to equate the FBI to the Gestapo is pathetic; either support your claim or withdraw it.

Ah yes, another pathetic attempt to excuse Holocaust denial and anti-semitism by engaging in whataboutism. Trying to equate Chinese deaths to the Holocaust is stupid for a number of reasons.

First, due to having been splintered into warring factions for years at this point, Chinese records were fragmented at best; unlike in Europe where the Nazis especially were into documenting everything possible. So, exact numbers in the area simply do not exist....unlike in Europe.

Secondly, nobody was attempting to systematically eradicate the Chinese like your heroes were trying to do to the Jews. The Japanese horrifically abused them but it simply was not the same.

So your little “woe is me” tantrum over people calling out Holocaust deniers is laughable.

The FBI with full knowledge of J. Edgar Hoover framed 4 innocent men for a murder committed by an FBI informant with the full knowledge of even some FBI agents in the field. Three of the men were initially sent to death row. Two of the men died in prison and two spent 30 years behind bars while politicians and FBI "cops" covered up their crime and refused to allow the men to be paroled or given a new trial.

Don't tell me FBI agents and administrators cannot be crooked.

You are so busy desperately trying to smear the FBI that you haven’t even bothered to make sure your claims are properly formed.

First and foremost, attacking the FBI over what J. Edgar Hoover—-who died in 1972 did—-is idiotic. It’d be like declaring that you are a Klansman because back in the 1960s you “very conservative” folks were routinely conducting acts of terrorism to try and prevent African Americans from voting.

Joseph Salvati was not a mobster, yet he was framed by mobsters in the FBI for a murder he did not commit and J. Edgar Hoover was fully aware of the facts. Mueller should have also been aware of the facts before he refused to support the unanimous Massachusetts parole board recommendation to give Salvati a parole after 25 years in jail. Mueller seemed more interested in protecting the reputation of the FBI than in showing mercy on a man so horribly framed by the FBI for the murder they knew he did not commit. As newly appointed director of the FBI Mueller convinced Bush to refuse to honor congressional requests for FBI documents in the case. Mueller was a lot like Rosenstein in that obstruction of justice carried out to protect the reputations of the guilty within the FBI.
