Imagine you could go back to three moments in history, when would you go?

Coming from the poster that was just talking about killing the founders of this nation you crying about violence is rather pathetic

Some people just deserve a violent end more than others.

Traitors for instance.

George Washington was the greatest traitor in modern history.

1. Troy, circa 1200bc - I want to know if Helen of Sparta really was the most beautiful woman who has ever lived

2. Medina, 7th century. Let's see what Muhammad actually said! No doubt my recording equipment will probably malfunction and I'll have to rely on pen and paper notes, which won't be very detailed as I can't write very fast (I'm better at typing though... maybe I should take a laptop computer! Are we allowed to take modern technology with us?) Meh... maybe I should've just gone to the beach instead. lol

3. 65 million years ago - let's see some dinosaurs! Did they really get destroyed by an asteroid? And did they have feathers?

For some of these suggestions the irony is that those participating in them didn't know they were having such an impact on future generations. Anyways:

1) January 10, 49 BC, standing in the ranks of the Legio XIII Gemina on the banks of the Rubicon.

2) Wall Street, a few weeks before October 24, 1929 so I could set up some massive short sells.

3) Egypt, Giza 2580 – c. 2560 BC so I could scratch "Kilroy was here" into as many stones as possible.

Imagine, being able to go back in time and observe 3 events, Say no more than 18 months at a time. You couldn't CHANGE history, but you could record it, maybe take some things back with you to today.

When would go?

Back to a year before the asteroid took out the Dinosaurs, grab some eggs for your own Jurassic Park and one hell of a firework video?

Maybe View Krakatoa from a safe distance?

Prove (or disprove) the existence of Jesus?

Interview the founding fathers and find out what they really meant by the 2nd Amendment?

When and where would you love to see?

Me, the dinosaurs, Jesus and I'm torn between the entirety of 1776 and the battle of the Alamo.

How would you do this? Who cares, maybe you do a favor for the Doctor and he, sorry she gives you three free trips to the past. Maybe you just figure out a way with a microwave and some homemade plutonium, the point is, forget the how so much and just focus on the "If you could".

1) you'd go back to Constitutional Convention and say, look, you guys think you are making liberalism illegal but you've got to be a lot more explicit about it if you want it to stick.

2) you'd go back to Jesus Christ and tell him to stress that capitalism would have saved billions and billions of lives a lot sooner if he had encouraged the idea.

3) And you'd tell Jesus that if he had spent a little time in Asia that too would have saved billions and billions of lives.

18 months for each trip, eh?

1. The library of Alexandria. Transcribe as much of the known lost major works as possible.

2. Europe and the Americas, 17,000 years ago.

3. Celts, Gauls, Germanics in 100 BC. Take notes on daily life, religion, political structure, knowledge of outside world.

I’d want my iPhone.

Toe warmers

Small plane

Like others, I have so many I would want to see...

1. Germany, 1914, fly in the Zeppelins (in an unsuccessful bombing run where no one and nothing got hurt).
2. Tokugawa era of Japan, to see the slow move of the Japanese imperial capital Kyoto to the small clan village of Edo (now Tokyo) as well as seeing the art and literature created at this time.
3. January 22-23, 1879, Rorke's Drift...just to watch how the battle unfolded in real life.

18 months wouldn't be enough, but like EvilRoddy, I would like to observe the monotheistic religion Ankhenaten founded, and observe what happened for the next hundred years, until a man named "Son" (Moses) claimed there was only one god, and led the Habiru peoples out of Egypt.

November 1967 to see Jimi Hendrix play again.

yeah then catch Keith Moon at Leeds in 1970 and Jerry Garcia in Antwerp in 72

Only to the silly monarchists who were fluffing the effete King George the Third.

I would definitely want to witness the Big Bang, and the moment life began on the planet.

1. An extended weekend to observe the crucifixion and resurrection.

2. An afternoon meal with Shakespeare.

3. A day at the hot gates.

I'd tell Rachael Carson what she accomplished, the start of the environmental revolution in America.

much much more significant to tell Jesus that when he created the individual he created America.

Perhaps you don't know the story.

Carson had a girlfriend (maybe like that) with an apple orchard. The orchard had experienced a massive die-off of birds, thus resulting in a silent spring. Carson, an accomplished ecologist, endeavored to investigate. She discovered that DDE, a biodegradent of DDT, resulted in a thinning of eggs. She published her work and the book Silent Spring.

He work was met by a massive lobby effort by the chemical industry. She was attacked for being a lesbian (dunno if that's even true). She was attacked for being a female scientist. Millions of dollars poured into her public character assassination.

During the vicious attacks on her, she was suffering from cancer. She died before her work was confirmed and began the Environmental Revolution in America.

She should know what she did. Jesus knows what he did.

We don't know what Jesus knows but obviously in creating the individual he started the ball rolling to create America which then went on the win 2 world wars and save civilization on earth. Do you understand?

obviously don't know about time travel at all or whether people listen when you have time traveled back to them but point is most important moment in human history is when Jesus created America by creating the individual.

obviously don't know what Jesus knows about time travel given that it is impossible and we are merely human or whether people listen when you have time traveled back to them but point of thread is about important moments in history ;most important moment in human history is when Jesus created America by creating the individual. Too complicated for you??
