Imagine you could go back to three moments in history, when would you go?

point of thread is about important moments in history;[ not physics of time travel or Jesus' current nature] most important moment in human history is when Jesus created America by creating the individual. Too complicated for you??

Is that really history?

Is that really history?

you mean when Jesus created the individual and the individual freedom which in turn led to America???

Creating the individual. Did anyone actually write that down? I mean when it happened.

I think history requires material from the period.

thread is not about what you think history requires but rather about important moments in history like when Jesus created individual freedom which in turn led to creation of America and world peace.

I think you believe you can substitute pre-history for history and take us all for a ride.

1. Jesus don't need to talk to you. Leave him alone. He's busy.

2. We're talking history, not pre-history.

Rachel Carson is clearly a superior choice to Jesus.

Rachel Carson is clearly a superior choice to Jesus.

time starts with birth of Jesus, he created morality on earth; most don't even know who she was. See how confused you are?

Another reason Carson is the superior choice. I win; you lose.

Rachel Carter is less known than Jesus so she is a more important figure in history?? You make sense like any liberal!!

Rachel Carson > Jesus

Three moments I’d go back to:

Summer of ‘79, when I got my first taste of yum yum.

Fall of ‘84, when I met the girl I should have married but screwed up somehow.

Spring of ‘02, when I met third wife; just to relive the past young and carefree 18 years.

1. Go back a few days before the publication of the results of the last large Powerball and then turn money into diamonds.
2. Go to New York in 1980, december 8 and shoot Lennon's murderer in the head before he could commit crime.
3. Sell diamonds and using the money and the fact, that Lennon now in my debt, would organize the Beatles tour and become the most popular person after Jesus Christ

Imagine, being able to go back in time and observe 3 events, Say no more than 18 months at a time. You couldn't CHANGE history, but you could record it, maybe take some things back with you to today.

When would go?

Back to a year before the asteroid took out the Dinosaurs, grab some eggs for your own Jurassic Park and one hell of a firework video?

Maybe View Krakatoa from a safe distance?

Prove (or disprove) the existence of Jesus?

Interview the founding fathers and find out what they really meant by the 2nd Amendment?

When and where would you love to see?

Me, the dinosaurs, Jesus and I'm torn between the entirety of 1776 and the battle of the Alamo.

How would you do this? Who cares, maybe you do a favor for the Doctor and he, sorry she gives you three free trips to the past. Maybe you just figure out a way with a microwave and some homemade plutonium, the point is, forget the how so much and just focus on the "If you could".

The Big Bang. After that I probably wouldn't get to see a #2 or 3

Banning DDT killed more people than Hitler

So ignorant.

DDT was never banned in the prevention of malaria. It was banned in developed world agriculture.

The problem is not exposure to DDT and indoor use does not result in the biodegradant DDE. There's no danger in getting DDT on oneself. The problem is widespread large scale use in agriculture. When DDT gets into the soil it is broken down into DDE, which is a teratogen and mutagen.

You have no idea what you're talking about. It's moronic anti environmentalism crap fed to morons for decades and there's really no excuse for buying that crap today. You've had decades to learn about this, but you're content to play orc.

Goes through page by page.

(1)Experiencing the American revolution and meeting George Washington.

(2) trying to stop the fools who voted themselves their own Fed income tax

(3) Meeting Jesus

Too many events in my mind for me to make a list but having studied a bit of history and a couple languages, there is one aspect of time travel that hasn't been mentioned in any of the responses I have read - LANGUAGE. For those who wish to visit Roman Judaea at the time of Jesus, how would you know the crucifixion you watched was that of the Jesus person if you couldn't understand the speech of the people in the crowd. The people of that time and that place spoke Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek and Latin, depending upon social status and cultural origin. Then there is the ever so small matter that we don't know how the words in any of those languages were pronounced. Yes, the academic types can read the languages but pronunciation is a whole different matter.

Never mind ancient Egyptian or Sumerian or archaic Greek and Latin - the English that we speak today would not be understood in 15th century England. Trying to read Chaucer's Canterbury Tales in a class, we quickly found that many of the words are no longer part of our language. Then there are accents - many Americans today would have a difficult time understanding the speech of a farmer from Yorkshire in the UK.

Obviously you’d need a babelfish or something similar. And something to stop you dying from microbes if you ate or drank anything.

1. Sermon on the Mount

2. Premiere of Hamlet

3. Some kind of excessive feast like in decadent Rome or late gluttony period of Henry VIII
